Tyrus Thomas As Back Up PF?

Post#1 » by BigSlam » Fri Dec 4, 2009 1:29 pm

"IF" he can be had, do we have what it would take to land him? I think he would be a wonderful addition as a back up PF on our roster.

Felts - Jax - Crash - Boris - TC
DJ - Flip - UPS - Tyrus - Nazzy

I like the way each of those sets compliment each other.

Chicago and the Knicks say easily no to this deal.

Which is why it would be perfect for us!!

Do you have any ideas of how we might be able to land TT? Do you think he would fit with us?

TT is awful and I have no idea why you want to ship out the superior Mohammad for him.

Bulls fans are about as done with TT as we were with Ammo.

Because we have a serious lack at the PF spot and TT would provide the atheltic/rebounding/shot blocking type that we need. Plus, it would create a lot of cap room.

He's not even comparable with Ammo. At the very least TT still has upside.

Ammo is a burn out.

I can confidently say Brown has more potential / is what we need at the PF spot and will develop into the better player and I would take him any day of the week over Thomas. TT is more expensive and would just take Brown's minutes.

I don't see UPS as a 4. I think he is much better suited at the 3 spot where as TT is more a 4.

How about just us and the Bulls?

Jax
Nazzy
Gana

for
Salmons
TT
Miller

We're trying to make the playoffs this season, IF we're trading Nazr it will be for an established player. And right now, unless we're getting back a center of equal or greater value, there is no way we break up the nice center rotation we have now.

The 2 most likely players to be dealt now are Boris and DJ.

Pretty much agreed with all of this.

TT's lack of BBIQ would keep him on the bench with LB.

Derrick Brown is too small to be a PF. Even if he wasn't, Tyrus is taller, longer, more athletic, and stronger. TT is only one year older, too, so he still has plenty of upside as well. I don't see a trade working, though.

Lexy for Sean Williams, I would do. At this point, I'd rather have Hendo than T-Will.

sean williams is horrible. the nets would have gotten rid of him already, except nobody wants him. because he's horrible.

LOL! You wanted T-Will so bad you could taste it at the Draft. And you are still trying to find a way to get him in a Cats uniform! Keep on trying, cause I wish he was a Cat also.

I agree. The upside of Brown is alot brighter than Thomas! And I honestly don't believe that Brown is that far behind Thomas in athleticism and even what he does lack, his skills are already more advance than Thomas. I do believe that he would be better at the 3, but I don't think that he would hurt us at the 4 at all.

Here is the trade after the 15th of Dec.

Charlotte out Law and Ajinca

NY out Harrington

Chicago out Thomas and James

Charlotte in Thomas with him being the backup 4

NY in James and Law (james expiring deal is all they want)

Chicago in Harrington and Lexy or he can go to the Knicks either way everybody gets what they want. Besides Thomas is still hurt and won't be back for about a week.

Chicago will only accept a deal that is 2010 friendly.

Since John Salmons can hurt us by accepting his player option for next season, feel free to include him and Kirk Hinrich (who just no longer fits our team with Derrick on board).

The goal:

Turn Thomas/Salmons/Hinrich into a starting caliber SG and a starting caliber PF who are either on rookie deals or expiring.

Return to Charlotte Hornets
