Roster make over?

Post#1 » by radtech » Sat Dec 5, 2009 5:40 am

Trade number one: Andris Biedrins and Ronny Turiaf for Al Jefferson.

Why for Wolves, Kevin Love should be the focal point of the offense with his wide variety of skills inside and out. Jefferson and Love are not the most fleet fouted front court players and slows down any running game. Biedrins has averaged a double-double before and runs the floor very well for a big man. He rebounds and has very good hands particulary for any pick and roll plays. Turiaf strongest attribute is his all out hustle and desire to rebound and defend. Even with capspace available, it is difficult to lure any free agents without overpaying. So Turiaf is a good backup for both center and power forward.

Trade number two: Rubio and Gomes for Danilo Gallinari and Wilson Chandler.

Why for Wolves, Corey Brewer has been a disappointment as a shooter and play maker. Wilson is showing signs of being a good offensive threat and a strong defender. He can either the big guard spot with his improving ball ahndling or the small forward position with ease because he is 6'8. Danilo is showing his all around talent as a shooter. At 6'10 he is a nightmare matchup at either the four or three spot. Rubio stayed overseas mainly because the roster as of right now has two legit points in Sessions and Flynn, both young and talented.

The new roster for next season includes Biedrins, Turiaf, Chandler, and Gallinari plus another lottery pick.

I'm not in love with the first trade, but it's not completely awful, don't do it though. The 2nd I suppose I'd think about, despite the fact that Wilson Chandler sucks.

Absolutely not to both trades. AJ is getting his bounce back, his passing has improved, and having Love back on the floor is going to make everyone a little better. Not Jordan better...but a little something. I like Beidrins....but I think people are not realizing AJ isn't 100% yet...thus making it easier to move him along. I think both guys can coexist if....we are indeed going to be a running team...AJ can fit the five spot if thats the case...and his Defense and passing improves and continues to do so. If he's not a black hole on offense and at least respectable, not great, but decent on D....then he's to valuable to lose IMO. And the second trade is much worse, Chandler is terrible. He's every bit as bad as Brewer, but because he wasn't a lotto pick, he can do no wrong because he looked decent last year. Well he hasn't looked great this year at all. Both he and Brews numbers are virtually identical, but I think Corey might have better! And Gallo kills me the most....he actually sat out tonite because he got a bruised arm...Really? And if we did actually trade AJ...trading for Gallo would be silly. Why get a great 3 baller like him, to only lose one of the best low block players in the game right now. And all of this doesn't mention the fact that it's Ricky freakin Rubio. Even if he falls flat on his face...the hype is too much to ignore, too insane to at least not see what we have before we ship it out for role players who either aren't that great, or can't stay on the floor.

Trade 1: (aka radtech's Maxim - Buy High - Sell Low)
Just another shortsighted trade of Big Al in a long line of shortsighted trades on this forum. You would NEVER make this trade in March/April when Al is back to full speed. Can you possibly have a tiny bit of foresight and not trade our best asset for this pile of garbage?

I turn both trades down.

if you move Jefferson it is for a legit contributor at the wing spot.

For me Brewer is better than chandler. Once we get another wing scorer and brewer can just hustle around he will be fine. Gallo for Rubio is interesting if NY offered more incentive. Kahn did publicly state his is not moving Rubio.

Dropped what, the poop? Not sure if he was so sly about it, it left a stench. Kind of like this thread and it's trade proposals.

I think Krap held something back.

Not into trading Big Al.
