More bogus techs on Rasheed......

Some of these will be taken back........

The Celtics forward, who goes into tonight’s game against San Antonio with eight in his first 18 games, said this morning that he has appealed four of those technicals from games against Indiana, New York, Orlando and Miami - the latter apparently for shouting “and one” after a made basket.

He acknowledged deserving his most recent in Charlotte on Tuesday night, noting that he cursed.

“Before I came here it was never an issue before,” he said. “My only concern is that they don’t cheat me.”

Sheed needs to talk less, get in better shape and focus on helping the team. He complains and talk way too much out there. Even when Durant was taking free throws he kept talking trash to him - I'd give him a tech for that. I know he has a "me against the world" mentality but he brings almost all of it on himself.

On a broader subject:

Durant: "They're a physical team. Give them that. They're a great team. But they do a lot of talk on the floor, which I think that's kind of false toughness."

I wish they'd curb it just a bit. This ain't the witty, calm kind of taunting that Bird laid on people but more like a crazed coke head. Just takes away from the team IMO and Sheed is the cherry on top.

Durant is going to kiss the Garden floor next time he comes to Boston.

I want the Celtics to talk even more. That's where our fire comes from...KG, Perk and Sheed need to be mad and to talk to be aggressive..IMO it doesn't take absolutely nothing away from the team. It just adds a whole bunch of things...if the Magic had the same attitude they would be the best team in the history of sports.

Kefa - trust me, I ate, drank and slept 80's basketball as a teenager. And since I know you've been there too you should know that Bird very rarely screamed at people - he had an air of superiority about him and kept telling people how he's going to embarrass them but it was never of the chest thumping variety. It was rarely done in a hyper kind of a fashion but mostly in a "I'm better then you and you can't do anything about it" way. Of course it rubbed people the wrong way. Of course everyone hated the Celtics but there was more respect as well. Our guys earn enough respect with their play - no need for false bravado.

Unless you're sitting courtside, you can't really know much of what was said then or now. It's pure speculation to suggest what type of trashtalking, if any, that players engage in on a game to game basis. Hardly any of the talk that goes on now is made aware to viewers by way of television, considering it's not exactly "family friendly" language.

Obviously you can see guys like KG shouting expletives every 2 seconds, Perk slapping his hands and complaining after every play, Rasheed's constant barking at the refs and Paul throwing his hands up (where's the foul??), but who's to say what words are exchanged between each player, and what the nature of those comments are?

In any event, I agree with Tony. I don't know what Sheed is smoking but this is nothing new.

Problem is that teams that rely on that stuff for inspiration don't handle it well when it's not unnerving the opponent. Then they usually try to ramp the stuff up and pay less attention to executing their offense and defense.

Meh, it's trash talking. It's part of the game... I look at our record so far and can't find a lot to complain about. Any time you hear another player complaining about it it probably means it's got under their skin a little bit. We win a lot and have good chemistry... let the league worry about the trash talking, at least all the money from the T's supposedly goes to charity.
