My Prediction:

Denver 105, Spurs 94

Denver is a force to be reckoned with. Carmelo is guaranteed to at least put up 20. The Spurs will probably put Bogans on him, so that could be a positive, but without Manu on the floor it will be a challenge to put up the points required to beat one of the best offenses in the League. The 6th man matchup will be great, Manu Vs. J.R. Timmy will be good on the glass, and Parker will more than likely get close to a double double. The Spurs will need better shooting from Jefferson, and need some key 3's from Mason and Finley. It will be a good game none the less.

Nice thread...

Appreciate it.

Clearly we have not been playing good basketball. This is a test of where we stand... and we have to win this if we want to be considered among the best in the NBA.

Right now I will say it... I have more doubts about the Spurs than faith...

Yeah well put. The Spurs really just need to get back into form. This is a championship caliber team, and can give the Lakers a run for their money, the just need to find a medium as a team. The team really never changed, but the attitude and demeanor has.

Saw the game and it wasn't good.

We had turnovers problem and like Sean Elliott said, it came in waves. It happened twice in the game. First time in the first half, I think it was the 2nd quarter. Second time, it came in the 3rd quarter. Thing is, a lot of the turnovers during those "waves" are commited by our stars. There were Tony throwing the ball away. Manu got his passes blocked a few times too in the game and some of them become steals. Same thing with Duncan. That was the biggest reason we lost the lead. We'd be up by nearly 10 points, and then we'll self destruct by committing turnovers. A lot of them turnovers are self-inflicted. Forcing the issue kind of thing.

Parker is playing well offensively and Duncan was extremely efficient tonight, but Manu is not what I remember on this game. He had trouble protecting the ball on drives tonight. Some of them were slapped away cleanly and the highlight of the game is probably when he stole the ball on an inbound pass and went for a dunk but got blocked by JR Smith. he had a few drives in the game that didn't finish. Perhaps, he's not 100%.

Blair seems to have trouble with long, athletic players. I figured he would eat Chris Anderson alive, but that didn't happen. About the only point Blair put up was when he bounced the ball too hard and it accidently went into the basket. He got his shot blocked and everything. Looks to me like Blair is better matched up againts short PFs like Carl Landry type instead of tall shotblockers like Chris Anderson. Blair may destroy Thabeet, but Anderson right now is a much better defender than Thabeet.

And the last thing I'm still worried about is Jefferson. I'm still waiting for that one game where our big 3 is healthy and Jefferson fits in beautifully. He certainly didn't do that tonite and I'm really starting to question if he's a good fit.

When you look at.. say Boston. The big 3 complement each other well. Pierce is a slasher. Ray Allen is a shooter. KG provides shooting and defense. They all complement each other. But when you look at Manu, Parker and Jefferson, they're all slashers. Now, Jefferson didn't exactly settle for jumpshots all day. He made a few aggresive moves driving the ball, but the fact is he didn't get enough touches to be making those moves. He got like how many FGA tonite? probably 8 or something. and like 4 or 5 of them are 3 pointers. I only remember about 3 times tonite where he drive the ball and attack the rim. That's not exactly what I'm hoping for from Richard Jefferson and we've already played 17 games. I'm still waiting for that one game where Richard Jefferson is the Richard Jefferson we want to see with everyone healthy.

Turnovers were the story of the game as far as i'm concerned. We could of easily won this one.

I am disappointed in the spurs. We have had so many home games early and have a poor record to show for it. Its going to be a tough road ahead.

TD haa just played perfect this season. You can't ask any more for him. Tony has his nights but nothing like he was last year. Wonder if he is fatiqued from all the France play. Manu looks banged up. Even on his good nights he just appears old. RJ hasn't fit in like we would have hoped. Where the heck has Dice gone. Another goose egg...thats 3 in a role geeze man help out a little bit.

Its still early but at some point this team has to come together. Losing so many games at home is unexceptable. Almost like this team has lost its identy with some many new comers.

What I'm starting to question is the minutes of our key guys. I know the reason is to save them for the playoffs, but at the same time, we're not as good as in the past. I mean, to me this team isn't better than our 05 team. We may need to play our stars more minutes if we want homecourt.
