Renzo Gracie vs. Matt Hughes????

The homies at the gym were saying Renzo signed a 4 fight deal with the UFC and that he will be looking to avenge Royce's lost to Hughes. Anyone else hear about this? I know Renzo sub'd Pat Miletich not to long ago so you could call this one a grudge match, but cmon Renzo has got to be in his 40's.

He's signed to a six fight deal and he will fight Hughes at some point, probably sooner rather than later. Of course there's almost no way he actually fights six times, that's just the way they structured the deal to ensure he retires in the UFC.

Personally i'm looking forward to the fight.

I think that fight was supposed to be at 109, but now I think Renzo will be fighting someone else, and it may or may not be on that card.

Matt Brown openly said he wanted to fight him, and he's been criticized a bit for it, and apparently the UFC is not willing to grant that wish anyway.

I'm not sure they should even risk giving Renzo a tune up fight, because I can't think of too many WWs in the UFC he would be favoured against. Phil Baroni?

Pretty sure Hughes would beat him pretty easy. I'd like to see Gracie face Brown, that'd be interesting.

Renzo wants a warm up fight before Hughes. Doesn't really matter because Hughes will tool Renzo.

Matt Brown was very respectful in his request to face Renzo. I Thought the Gracies' response was incredibly rude and pompus.

My guess is that they realize that Brown could likely beat Renzo, but he's not a "big enough name" to lose to.

Pretty much. The Gracie's are not really relevant now and they do not like it.
