I honestly don't care what my teams "image" is, unless it's something completely outrageous, which it wasn't. Look at Stephen Jackson now, don't really hear much trouble from him, and he's gotten way better since leaving Indiana. Ron Artest is just a lost plain and simple. JO had a bad contract, but was a great player, and other than throwing one punch which was justified IMO, he's a model citizen.

I would also venture to guess you aren't a suitwearing businessman who buys courtside season tickets or rents out a suite for the season. If so my apologies, you are one of the few of that stature in Indiana who doesn't care about his team's "image".

And to say "unless it's something completely outrageous": I agree with you, what all those guys did in their personal time wasn't that "outrageous", but you have to remember we are in Indiana. We don't allow Sunday carryout liquor sales, so yes rolling around town with weed in your car while firing guns in the air is "outrageuos" by Indiana standards.

You don't hear much trouble out of Stephen Jackson? What is your definition of trouble? Quiting as team captain isn't "much" toruble? Forcing a trade isn't much trouble? (Please note I like Jackson's game and his passion for the game, but he is fairly unstable)

And JO was a great player? Do you mean from '01 thru '04 when he was playing more than 70 games a season for us and average 19+ points? Or do you mean from '05 thru '08 when his numbers were showing decline, he seemed to be injury prone (playing in only 65% of the games), he had seemingly given up on us and was become a shell of his former "greatness"

Granted hindsight is 20/20 but honestly, WTF were they thinking drafting David Harrison? Here are our 1st round picks since 2000, and the notable guys that were taken AFTER we took these guys.....

2000
Primoz Brezec
Guys after him: Eddie House, Michael Redd

2001
No first round pick, our 2nd round pick was Jamison Brewer
Guys after: No one really worth mentioning, Bobby Simmons?

2002
Fred Jones
Guys after: Tayshawn Prince, Carols Boozer, John Salmons.

2003
Again, no first rounder 2nd round pick was James Jones
Guys after: No one worth mentioning, but this was one of the best classes EVER, should have traded up and got a star. James, Wade, Bosh, Kaman, West, Diaw, Josh Howard....etc.

2004
David Harrison
Guys After: Anderson Varejao, Chris Duhon, Trevor Ariza

2005
Danny Granger, probably the best pick in Pacers draft history other than Reggie.
Guys after: Irrelavant because Granger has turned out to be one of the best in that draft, and in the league. But they could have traded up for their 2nd pick and got: Monta Ellis, Hakim Warrick, David Lee. But other than Chris Paul, Granger turned out to be the best player in that draft.

2006
Shawne Williams
Guys after: Jordan Farmar, RAJON RONDO

2007
NO PICKS DUE TO THE WONDERFUL AL HARRINGTON DEAL

2008
Jerrid Bayless, who we trade for Brandon Rush, mulligan anyone?
Guys after: Courtney Lee, George Hill, Chris Douglas-Roberts, JJ Hickson, Anthony Randolph.....Brook Lopez was picked one before us, Eric Gordon three before us.

2009
Tyler Hansbrough (Still too early to tell, but does anyone really expect him to be more than just som hustle off the bench, and do you want to be spending your 13th pick on a role player at best?
Guys after: Ty Lawson, Darrin Collison, Dejaun Blair, Chase Buddinger.....Brandon Jennings was only two picks ahead of us.

Again, tough to know these things at the time, but I just feel that they are just wasting draft picks that never amount to anything. Out of all those picks, Granger is the ONLY one that has worked out, jury is still out on Hibbert and Hansbrough.

Trade up to get a better pick? You realize to get a better pick, you have to give something up, right? Or have something the other team wants. And as much as you seem to think we have a bad roster, I would assume you think we don't have any trade chips. Which is probably what every GM in the league thinks too!!

You seem to give the Pacers all the credit in the world for drafting Granger, yet when other teams have such a great pick, you don't give the other team credit for finding the "diamond in the rough". You act like it is the Pacer's fault for messing up the pick. Remember most years, anything outside the top 5 is purely a guessing game and luck!!

Most years, the whole draft is pure luck. Manu, Redd, Boozer, Arenas, Olowokandi, Kwame, basically the draft isn't always the answer. It's a combination of smart GMing and LUCK.

Which is why we took Hansbrough... He was one of few where we knew exactly what we were getting.

I hope so, good chance they could land John Wall that way.

I don't believe in the whole, "We can make the playoffs" deal, if you can make the playoffs but have no realistic chance of winning it all, I'd rather be a lottery team. We made the playoffs, big deal, we get to play Lebron or the Celtics or the Magic and get dogwalked for 4, maybe 5 games. Yay. Gimmie a top 5 pick.

If everyone thought like that there would be 6 contenders and 24 teams trying to tank hard. You're forgetting that this is basketball and it's about playing hard and trying your best no matter what. That's what most people like to see. The Suns are disappointing most years, especially in the playoffs, but I've seen their fans. They are excited because the Suns play hard and fast. The Pacers are doing neither this year, and that's the problem, not losing too little.

Tanking is like staying poor for the sake of welfare, except you don't even know what amount the check is going to be.

With the terrible coach we got and the injuries we have had, we wont have to "tank" it to get a good pick.

Bottom line is JOB has to go. TJ Ford has to go. If we can draft Wall, get Danny, Mike and Troy healthy and Hibbert can continue to improve, we will be ok. Larry got rid of the trash from the brawl, everyone bashes his drafting but he did bring in Danny(a guy Larry admitted we had no chance of getting) he drafted Hibbert, Rush(ok traded for but anyone see where Bayless wants traded) and Hansbrough knows how to win, he is fiesty like Foster, he will be ok
