Expert's Advice:Joe Johnson, G-Force for Manu, AL J and Deng

Post#1 » by 76ciology » Tue Dec 8, 2009 11:15 am

20 Team ROTO league:

PG: Brandon Jennings
SG: Tyreke Evans
G: Chris Duhon
SF: Kevin Durant
PF: Gerald Wallace
F: Joe Johnson
C: -N/A- ('Twas Oden's Place)
C: Tyson Chandler
Uti: DeMar DeRozan
Uti: Wesley Matthews:
Bench: Steve Blake
Bench: Aaron Affalo
Bench: Martell Webster

That is my team.

Well, I've been benefiting from Greg Oden's breakout season until he went down this saturday. And because of that, I lacked another center to fill his role. And Oden's season ending injury really was a problem since we're obliged to play two centers for 164 games (full 82 games both centers).

The trade is:
Gerald Wallace
Joe Johnson

for

Al Jefferson
Luol Deng
Manu Ginobili

Well, it's the classic trade of quality for quantity. What do you guys think? Well Gerald Wallace and Joe Johnson were playing like top 20-30 fantasy players recently. And it was really hard to give them up, but with the Greg Oden going down and the need to have a decent C. (only Javalee McGee and Glen Davis are the decent centers available.) I was forced to do the trade. And I don't think it's that bad since I'm buying all Gino, Luol and Al at a very low price, all of them are buy low candidates so far this season.

Roster After the trade:

PG: Brandon Jennings
SG: Tyreke Evans
G: Manu Ginobili
SF: Kevin Durant
PF: Tyrus Thomas
F: Luol Deng
C: Al Jefferson
C: Tyson Chandler
Uti: DeMar DeRozan
Uti: Wesley Matthews:
Bench: Steve Blake
Bench: Chris Duhon
Bench: Martell Webster

Thanks for the reply, loot. :D But I think there's a huge gap between Gino and JJ, statistically.

there is. just checked gino's stats for the first time.

still, i'd do it. maybe you could move gino for something nice if a owner isnt paying attention. maybe a thomspon type of player or draftpick.

Yup, that is what I'm planning to do. But it's really hard to trade in this league because there is a four digits cash prize for the 1st place winner. :D

Deng's numbers may drop with Thomas coming back. I would have kept JJ and Wallace, but I know how hard it is to fill both of those C spots in a roto league.
