Bayless?

Post#1 » by Dalakerbox » Tue Dec 8, 2009 8:05 pm

Would you guys try to offer Mbenga and Powell for Bayless? Or would he not even be worth looking at because of the emergence of probably the quickest and most athletic back court in the league of Jordan and Shannon. Just a question, but I also liked the idea of trying to make a pitch for Oden, as a backup for us he won't get enough minutes to get injured unless he is that unlucky

Dude, why take on Oden when the big men are totally fine. Plus, I hate to say it, but it seems like this will be the story of Oden's career. As to Bayless, why not?

Greg Oden? :o You think they'd trade him at this point? And you think we'd trade for him when he just had his third knee injury of his short career? And he is in line for a big contract next year. :o

One, Portland won't trade with the Lakers who are in the same conference. Two, for Mbenga and Powell... LOL.

Oden's not going anywhere that was just a funny joke by Tony M.

Bayless I liked coming out of college, but he hasn't made a dent yet. He was 1st or 2nd best summer league player his rookie season. My cuz is a huge Ptown fan and he doesn't like him, and he says he's plagued with alligator arms as well.

I'd trade anyone outside of our top 6 for Bayless. He will be a very solid player in this league, if not a star. He could potentially solidify our backcourt and also become the 1-2 future punch with Bynum.

Wouldn't trade for Oden. Mitch DON'T Do it... God forbid! How many knee surgeries? and new contract coming up? hell NO!

I would like to get Bayless though. I just think he could be sooooooo much better if he left Portland.
I'm not sure if i would give up Mbenga. This team is put together very very well and we gotta be careful how we mess with it. Under the rader guys like Mbenga are crucial in their own tiny little ways. I think he brings alot to this team that people don't see.

This guy plays hard and puts in muscle in practice to help our starters prepare. We need him to keep Bynum beasting. Now trust me, yall don't want Gasol or Kareem guarding Bynum in practice every darn year. If that is the case, Bynum will never be able to bang with DHoward. why do you think they resigned the Polish hamer Gortat? I want Bynum to continue beasting and if that is going to be the case, we need Mbenga to keep him on that. Seriously.

The only reason I mentioned those two players is because they are cheap and can be let go next season when Oden gets better. Also with the loss of Oden they are in need of an inside presence for blocking shots, grabbing boards and scoring a good 8 to 10 points, "someone that would work well with Aldridge" which I'm not sure if your aware of but these guys can do that. Actually I always joke with my buddies how together you would have the perfect big man lmao. I understand the whole division rival thing, but we have money from draft picks sold and expiring contracts that will make a deal even more appealing. A true point guard and the deal would lighten our payroll a bit, that is the goal here right? :D

Oden is out for the year. Ednd of story. Why would we trade anything for a player we could not use for a year.

Would love to have him but the Blazers would rather trade him for Eddy Curry than have anything to do with us. Bayless could be the speedy quick PG with instant offense off the bench that we've been expecting from our bench boys for so long.
