Team's best player plays for 18 games with a minor injury. He is noticably less effective than he was throughout most of last season. He isn't able to practice and you hear that that is one of the reasons the team doesn't look cohesive. And now the minor injury has turned into a significant injury. Could this situation have been handled any worse? As an organization you just have to be smarter than this.
You can bet that if Peyton Manning had a sore sholder the Colts wouldn't be stupid enough to risk a long term problem at the expense of a game or two.

Could it be possible Danny or the team didnt think it was as bad as it was or Danny just played through the pain hoping to win games?

Yeah, I think that as much of a warrior Granger is, if I was O'Brien I'd sit him until he can practice. My philosophy is, if you don't come to practice, you don't play in the games, no matter what the reason. It shows how scared O'Brien is.

Yes I am not a fan of playing through injuries, it doesn't look very smart to gamble with your franchise player. I hope they keep him out of the line-up untill he's 100% healthy again.

I like players who play through injuries. However, If you are unable to practice and you are affecting the cohesiveness of the team as a whole....then I think you should sit a bit.
Granger should have sat a few games. It's not his fault though. Any real basketball player would try to play with a minor injury, it's up to the staff to sit him.

Everybody likes players who are tough, play through injuries and put everything out there for the team. I just can't help but wonder if this could have all been avoided if Granger had sat 5 or 6 games. A guy like Granger won't initiate the necessary layoff. The Pacer organization has to be smart enouth to make the decision.
Big picture the number one goal for this team this year is to make the playoffs. Going into the season the playoffs was a feasible goal. If Granger misses six weeks it a longshot at best and the guys running the organization have no one but themselves to blame.
