This trade makes the Jazz a championship contender.
Hamilton and Ben Wallace for Korver, Harpring, Fess and Kosta
Detroit might do trade since they look like a non-playoff team and get rid of Hamilton's bad contract.
Jazz lineup:
PG Williams Maynor Price
SG Hamilton Miles Mathews Price
C Memo Wallace Boozer
PF Boozer Millsap AK-47
SF Brewer AK-47 Miles

I just wish Hamilton didn't have such a horrible contract. I think he's a perfect fit for this team. If the Jazz were willing to take on his contract I think Detroit would do it without involving Ben Wallace and Fesenko. I don't want any part of Ben Wallace and I think Fesenko has some potential.

Ben Wallace is ancient, Rip is going to be ancient soon.
I know he's only 31, but he's frail. He makes AK look like Ron Arest. I saw him in a mall in Florida during the playoffs last year and couldn't believe how lanky he is.

I was on the Rip bandwagon during the offseason, and I still think he'd be a hell of a player in our system, but his contract is too bad to take on. Ben Wallace would also be a nice piece to have, he brings the toughness that we lack down low and could teach a lot to Fes and Koufos. I wouldn't pull the trigger on this trade though.

Re: Det/Jazz trade = contender
No way, I am not willing to throw away our future for a trade that does NOT make us a contender. The only thing keeping us from contending is the Laker's incredible length, and in my humble opinion, Fes is every bit as useful in that regards as Ben Wallace at this point in his ancient career.
I love Rip and think he'd be a good leader and fit in perfectly with the system, but I really think the Jazz could use another solid all-star that can create and score at will. The only guy that comes close to that who's on the market is McGrady, which could turn out to be either an amazing or horrible investment. He would need to be willing not to take stupid jumpers in the 4th, and it's a gamble that his health will ever be ideal again.
Other than that, we can hope to strike the jackpot in the draft. NY is playing better and other teams are playing worse, so a top 3 pick seems more and more unlikely. Otherwise, Wall would be nice.
I don't know. Maybe we're just screwed. It's all Memphis' fault.

why would you do that if you are getting John Wall after this season?

Shhh.. don't tell the Knicks fans. They're currently planning on riding their 4-game winning streak all the way to the Eastern Conf. finals...

If you could shuffle off Kirilenko and Harpring's contracts for McGrady, there is no huge risk for the Jazz. McGrady would only cost a couple million if he couldn't play at all(insurance) and neither Kirilenko nor Harpring are playing anyway. It would be worth it to get out from under Kirilenko's contract.
