Week 14 Start/Sit

Post#1 » by Eazy E » Wed Dec 9, 2009 11:20 am

I need to fill two of my WR spots.

Houshmandzadeh @ Hou, Crabtree Ari, Hakeem Nicks Phi, or Kenny Brit StL.

Which two would you go with?

Britt and Crabtree IMO

Go with Forsett. I don't trust Maroney anymore, now that Morris and Faulk are back they are back to their terrible committee. Which leads me to my next question:

Pick 1 RB:
Jerome Harrison vs. PIT
Justin Fargas vs. WAS
Darren Sproles @ DAL
Laurence Maroney vs. CAR

Pick 2 WR:
Davone Bess @ JAC
Antonio Bryant vs. NYJ
Braylon Edwards @ TB
Devin Thomas @ OAK

Harrison - PIT isn't the same and hes got the best chance of getting the most touches (catch or carry).

Bess is the safe play - JAX's pass D is getting better, but with star CB Mathis out, plus a starting SS out, he'll be covered by a rookie (or at least inexperience guy T. Breckenridge / G.Alexander / A.Smith). Even if they have played well recently, it's still young guys filling in on what was already the 23rd or 24th pass D in the league, with the worst sack total (and this is coming from a fan). On top of that they've been dropping both safeties deep or blitzing them (leaving Bess for lots of short or long completions).

Thanks. Hate to nitpick, but I need another WR out of Bryant, Edwards and Thomas to start alongside Bess and my #1 guy Welker. Any ideas?

I'm leaning Bryant because of his recent play but Thomas is playing OAK and Edwards always burns me when I bench him.

That's tough to answer with authority.

Sanchez is out so Braylon is a big risk in a good match-up; not sure if it matters but with Braylon joining 1/2 way through Kellen Clemens may be more comfortable throwing to the other guys hes worked with over a longer period of time. It's not like he would have got more than this weeks reps with Braylon. He's an OK choice.

Bryant is facing the Jets Revis - arguably the best corner in the game whose shut down even the best guys. You're only chance there is if Revis only plays 1 side of the field, but if Bryan is lighting it up he'll start to follow him around. Plus JF shares the ball well and you know he'll be told to avoid Revis like the plague after last games 5 ints. I see him making the easy passes most of the night and Bryant used only to draw Revis far, far away.

I guess Devin Thomas has been about a 4 catch guy until last weeks 2TDs, but he may be hot as well as get a match-up bump as OAK has only one really good CB who may or may not be covering him. They are a lower middle of the pack pass D despite a decent pass rush. I think he may be a good play as there's a chance Was has watched OAK get exploited by the pass the last two games and come out throwing.

Thanks BigBurd, I think Thomas is the best bet here. It's a fairly big risk, but Edwards with no Sanchez and Bryant vs. Revis are terrible matchups.

What do you expect the timeshare to look like between Forsett/Jones this week? With Forsett more healthy then the week before do you see it as more of a 50/50?

I cna choose between Reggie Bush, Maroney, and Forsett in a 1 Point per reception league and this is a tough, tough call.

^ I gotta go Bush in a PPR league. He is the least likely to be a complete bust like the other 2 can.

Who guys got?

Smith @ ARZ
Mcnab @ NYG

I also have Mccoy so it scares me a bit if the Eagles have a bad week.

I like Alex Smith, he has been playing great as of late. I dont think you can go wrong with either of them IMO.

My problem with Forsett isn't the time share with Jones, it's the matchup with Houston. There defense has looked better, but it is really the fact Seattle may fall behind excessively early and abandon the run altogether.

Nicks and Crabtree are the safe choices but I would go with Houz against the weak Hou secondary and Britt against StL who is missing their top safety and just are not that good period.

Nicks is still fighting with 4 others for snaps even though he is the most talented and I am not too sure how Crabtree fares if he has to face DR-C

PPR League

Reggie Bush (Still a little banged up) or Chris Brown (Slaton is on the IR)
