Official Sasha Pavlovic Watch Thread

Post#1 » by Mcfale313 » Wed Dec 9, 2009 11:48 pm

I just heard that from TV while having lunch, the sportscentre guy is telling some fun stats around NBA this year, and one of them is regarding the wolves almighty forward Sasha Pavlovic

I can't recount his sentences word by word, but basically:

Among all active NBA players who at least played 15 games, attempted at least 100 FG, and at least 25 attempt from beyond the 3 point arc, Sasha Pavlovic of the Minnesota Timberwolves is the only person whom, if you add up his FG%, 3ptFG%, and FT%, the total number is equal or less than 1.

In other words, Sasha's FG% (36%), 3ptFG% (27%), and FT% (37%) cannot add up to beyond 100%.

The NBA record for full season combination of these 3 stats are 117% from some players from the 90s, but I think Sasha is on pace to break that record should he continue killing the wolves on the court.

It is pretty ridiculous for someone with outside-range to have that combined % lower than 1, that's just miraculous....Normally players are at least good in one of those catagories, FT or FG, but he is just bad all around

sorry it is kind of off topic but I really hate Sasha! >.<

I dislike this dude as the next guy but I'm sure his FT % will rise later in the season - assuming he'll make another trip to the line which quite frankly I can't see happening soon.

but yeah this is really bad. the only shots he should take are late in the shot clock or if he's left alone on the perimeter with nobody being within of at least 5 feet.

to be honest: I actually thought he might be breaking or setting up a new record for an obscure NBA stat nobody has heard of before but I should blame my thinking on the cold I'm suffering from.

We must have signed him to tank... it's like having Mark Madsen shoot some 3's... it's just a lot less blatant

Not shocked at all that this is the record he's setting. He's not even hot garbage, more like luke warm, sitting on the stove 3 hours later kind of garbage. The kind where you're going back and forth whether it's still good or not. It looks good, but you know as soon as you taste it you'll want to vomit. Kind of the way he plays. You look at him and think, "This kid should have something." Then you put him in and realize how wrong you were. FMT (F*ck My Timberwolves)

He's underrated and guys like him take a while to mature. Let's trade him for Spencer Hawes.

I expected bad, but this is just amazing. I honestly thought that Nick Andersons' http://www.nba.com/playerfile/nick_anderson/index.html 1st year with the Kings numbers were the most horrible for a guy who was still in a rotation. This might be no longer true.

Although, whats worse? Nick Anderson putting up those numbers and starting 72 of 72 games, or Pavlovic just sucking.

I can think of no honest reason the Wolves are still holding onto him other then for part of a potential trade.

He shouldn't even get a single minute anymore

Give all his minutes to Ellington.

Corey is at 114% right now. Sasha will hit some free throws and bring that % up into the 60s and be out of this discussion. Corey, on the other hand, will remain at this futile level all season.

Sacramento is in financial trouble. It only makes sense for them to throw in Jason Thompson also...

I wonder if there's a way to trade Sasha for a sack of used basketballs?

Just so you know, for those who watched the fourth quarter today, you should be aware that sasha just made NBA history for the shortest time between airballing a freethrow and a field goal, about 28 seconds apart.

new sasha watch:

FG% = 42/120 = 35%
3ptFG% = 13/46 = 28%
FT% = 4 / 10 = 40%

overall = 103%

this data will be updated everygame.......and plotted in excel by the end of the season
