Hypothetical scenario

Lets say the Packers find themselves deep in the playoffs this year and the Queens get eliminated in round one or two. How are we supposed to react to people we have seen in a purple #4 jersey, or the "fire Ted" crowd, who are now all of a sudden the biggest Packer fans ever once again? Personally I will have a VERY hard time respecting any Packer fans who wore purple and were cheering AGAINST the Pack during the Viking games. I'm assuming we all know at least one person who followed Favre to the Queens. I guess in summary, I can't stand bandwagoners.

I'm as hopeful and optimistic about this team as anyone, but I'm not going to worry about this until it happens. There's still a ways to go. That'd be a great problem to have, though, and I really hope I get to shove it in my sister's face (she's a typical Favre-lover).

The people I know that continued to follow Favre are not hiding it. They are out in the open that they want the Packers to fail so TT gets fired and they want to Vikings to win so Favre can rub it in TT's face. I guess I don't understand it, because if Favre wins it all, he is also rubbing it in our face... If TT fails, it means the Packers suck. Why would you ever want your favorite team to be bad?

I've never seen a player with the type of following that Favre has. People are loyal to him over the team and when he is gone, I'm not sure what those people are going to do. Will they be Jets fans because they traded for Favre? Will they be Vikings fans because they gave Favre another chance? I guess I really don't understand the end game for them...

For me, it's always been about the Packers. I actually think TT is a very good GM and I think he has our team in great position. We have an amazing young offensive and defensive core and a ton of cap room with a shot at winning now as well as winning for the next 10 years. When I see guys like Rodgers, Finley, Jennings, Jones, Nelson, Lang, Raji, Matthews, Collins and some of the other talent on the team... I see a bright future.

What will I think of the people who come back to being Packer fans if the Packers outlast the Vikings? I guess there will be an 'I told you so' period, because I have been attacked and called all sorts of ridiculous names by people for thinking TT is a good GM. In two or three years though, I think everyone will be back to liking and worrying about the Packers rather than Favre... I look forward to it and I hope the Packers can do better than the Vikings to make it happen quicker.

I guess I am just bitter about the first 8 weeks of the season getting razzed by my father-in-law, brother-in-law, and three old lady coworkers who are the biggest Favre crazy's I have ever seen. One lady said to me the other day: "You know you I really like is that JARED ALLEN guy!!!" That comment was pretty much my breaking point and the reason I made the post. I REALLY hope the Pack continues playing well so I can give all these people a big "screw you" when they try to cheer for the Pack again.

I see what you are saying. When we won the Superbowl it was obviously very exciting, but part of me wanted to play and beat Dallas in the NFC Championship rather than Carolina since the Cowboys had beaten us so many times in a row at their place. This year, I'd first like to go as deep in the playoffs as possible, but I would like to knock out Favre and the Vikings.

First off like it or not everybody has the freedom to like who they like. It only irritates me a little.
But as far as I'm concerned ...

I'm really hoping the following plays out:

1. Minnesota loses again before week 17
2. Arizona keeps winning before week 17
3. The Giants have a crack at the wild card week 17, even if it requires help

Although that would encourage Arizona to play their starters week 17, I would be willing to lose that game and play as the 6th seed if it meant knocking Minnesota down to the #3 seed and allowing us to play them right away. Of course, the Giants are going to need some help in order to have something to play for. If they lose this weekend, they're pretty much done.

Actually for me the ideal scenario would be to obviously win the superbowl but without having to face the vikings. Imagine that. Favre would have got his 'revenge' vs the Pack in those 2 reg season games but ultimately we still won the it all. Imagine how terrible he would feel

Yeah, but most Favre apologists are so delusional that they'd still be trying to make the case that the Vikings are better because the Packers never beat them head to head. But seriously, I need to stop talking about this. Let's worry about clinching our WC spot before we start talking about the Super Bowl and getting the last laugh against Favre.

I hear you and definitely empathize with your frustration. I just personally feel like getting too up for this team is going to end in disappointment for me.

I don't know why anyone would get upset or frustrated. It's part of being a sports fan. There are ups and downs. There are players you love and hate and often it can be the same player at different times.

When they jump back on the Packers' bandwagon, I'd just continue to bring up their Vikings period up, kind of how you would bring up a crazy ex. Just don't let them live it down and don't let them forget it! That is what I plan on doing...
