Raps fan here

Post#1 » by Silk Wilkes » Fri Dec 11, 2009 4:25 pm

Hey Bobcats fans, I just want to commend you guys on sticking with your team and it seems to finally be coming together. You guys beat our a** pretty handily and I can't wait until the Raps face you guys again. I have a question though; would a guy like Tyson Chandler be available? I don't know if the Raps have anything outside of Chris Bosh and DeMar DeRozan that you guys would want but pretty much everyone else would be available in my opinion. I see he's having a down year but the Raps desperately need someone to terrorize people when our perimeter defenders get beat.

Would you take Diop too?

Probably, if you take Banks.

Everyone is always avaiable - the question is: what would you be willing to give up to get him?

Not sure the Raps have anything of interest to us (outside of an extended Bosh), but what did you have in mind?

No idea, I just put something together on Trade Checker but it could be way off, it's just a model if anything. Maybe some picks need to be thrown in but I'm not good at fantasy trades, lol.

To Toronto: Chandler, Diop, Augustin

To Charlotte: Bargnani, Calderon, Banks, O'Bryant

I'm not sure Bosh would resign in Charlotte, no offense, which is why I was thinking outside of him and DeRozan.

I don't want any piece of Bargnani and Calderon and their god-awful contracts.

None taken - and you might be right.

But if he was willing (assuming he made it known he wanted out of TO), would you as a fan be happy with this?

I wouldn't be so happy with this deal and the reason why is because Chandler is having a down year while CB has been an absolute beast. Diaw is a nice piece and a high quality player but Law is pretty much an end of the bench guy while Jarrett Jack is a starter level point guard. I think you guys would be walking away laughing with this deal to be honest. If you guys were gonna get a resigned CB the deal would need a lot more value from Charlotte's side, especially since we're in the same conference. That's just my opinion though.

Fair enough - of course you risk losing Bosh for nothing just like the Bulls did with Gordon though if he decides just to walk away, so maybe getting something would be better than nothing?

A team with Jose, Hedo and Diaw on it would make for some awesome ball movement.

Yes, take him.

Yeah, uh, this:
To Toronto: Chandler, Diop, Augustin

To Charlotte: Bargnani, Calderon, Banks, O'Bryant

Looks like a freaking bargain to me. I am completely on board.

So you would be good with a deal like that as a Bobcats fan? I'd love it from a Raptors perspective and I think my fellow Raps fans would as well.

I would do that in a skipped heartbeat, and I suspect even our pathetic front office would also. But I doubt Toronto pulls that trigger.
I continue to wait...and hope...for the return to Hornet's glory.

How about you first check those guys play and their contracts? With Bargnani as our starting center, Crash needs to grab 25rpg. And you can't put a guy with a 60million dollar contract on the bench.

I mean, yeah, they're locked up long-term. But they're not bad players, and they're better than what we're giving up. I'm pretty sure we're never going to have cap space at this point, so why not improve the team?

I'm down for that trade, too, but I see no reason why Toronto would go for it. Augustin would need to get back to playing like he did last season and Chandler would have to at least look as good as he did last season for the Craptors to consider it.
Humble yourself.

The only reason the Raps front office wouldn't accept that deal is because of Bryan Colangelo's man crush on Andrea Bargnani. Other than that we'd definitely pull the trigger. It's a buy low type of situation for us because Chandler is EXACTLY what we need beside CB. Turkoglu can throw him alley-oops and he can protect the middle against slashers while helping out on the boards. Sure, Augustin has had a down year but I think he'll bounce back.

If you throw in the girl in your icon you can have Wallace.
