I can't see the Grizz not matching the likely very-reasonable offer he will get this offseason . . . so Memphis

Minnesota is likely but they would have to harpoon their franchise to do it. He is likely to return unless Minny offers something north of 13 million in the first year in which they will rightfully let him walk since they don't feel he is worth more than 10 mil per year. There is no sign and trade possibility with Minnesota as they have nothing but spare parts to come close to a salary like that so the Memphis Grizz no luck curse would continue.

What about this deal with the Cavaliers:

Rudy Gay + Mike Conley + Marco Jarik

For

Jamario Moon
(top-5 defenseive player in league/good shooter) 3 Million contract 3 yrs (3rd year not guaranted
+
Daniel Gibson (top 3pt shooter in league over last 3 years...only 24, above average defender)
+
2010 1st round draft pick
+
rights to Eyenga (MVP of euroleague)...for those that don't know...he is a 6'7 250LB shooting Guard

What are you smoking? Moon and Gibson are scrubs who barely see real PT. CLE pick will be a 2nd round-like and to finish your mess, Eyenga doesn´t even play the Euroleague! He´s a 6´5 player from the Spanish 3rd division! ( http://www.eurocupbasketball.com/ulebcu ... ode=001176 )

You know what - no thanks, actually. I love Bosh's game. But the way Zach, Gasol and Rudy are all playing - I wouldn't do it.

Just throwing this out there, this is what Grizzlies beat reporter Ronald Tillery had to say about the Gay situation-
If Rudy Gay gets an offer sheet, the Griz will match it no matter what the number is. Don't believe anything else on that subject. Rudy would have to play out his fifth season and become an unrestricted free agent in 2011 to leave the Griz.

If the Nets draft John Wall, I could see a Rudy Gay for Devin Harris swap.

If the Nets want any shot at Wall they need to start winning. The team with the worst record typically doesn't get the first pick. See exhibit Mike Conley...

Yeah, 25% to get the pick by the odds and I read somewhere 19% that the team with the worst record has actually gotten it since the switch to the lottery.

Sorry for bumping this thread but.....

LMAO, top 5 defender? He wouldn't make top 50 I'd guess and he isn't a good shooter at all. He shoots what? 34% career from three?

heathmalc wrote:Daniel Gibson (top 3pt shooter in league over last 3 years...only 24, above average defender)

For one, Gibson is an awful defender. Two, he wasn't top 3 in any of the past three seasons and lastly he is 23.

heathmalc wrote:rights to Eyenga (MVP of euroleague)...for those that don't know...he is a 6'7 250LB shooting Guard

Eyenga played like 2 games in the Euroleague last season, he was stuck on the B team almost the entire season. And for those that don't know, he's 6'5, 210 lbs.

You're a joke.

I think a max offer is the only thing that the Grizz will hesitate on. Otherwise game, set and match. Unlike David Lee and the Knicks, the Grizz didn't totally low ball Rudy. They were only (reportedly) a couple of million dollars apart. With the season Rudy's having, coupled with the team's improvement, I have no problem at all seeing the Grizz front office pony up and meet his demands or matching an offer sheet.
