Hey Nuggets RealGMers,
Loyal Raps fan here and just wanted to know how you guys like Joey Graham?
In Toronto, we absolutely hated the guy, for what then seemed like lacking mental capacity as he almost refused to play within his role on the team. However, that could be likely due to coaching and since that department is far superior on your team, maybe things have changed?
So basically:
1) How is he performing in Karl's system?
2) strengths, weaknesses ?
3) How can he improve on/for the Nuggets?

He is an end of the bench limited minutes type of guy who usually plays out of position when he does get to play. It is kind of difficult to give an honest evaluation on what he does because he doesn't play all that much to begin with, but in the minutes that he has played, he hasn't done anything to make anyone say, dang he is better than Kleiza was because he clearly isn't. I think the the verdict is still out, but it ain't looking good.

Ya he is getting a lot of the same treatment Balkman is and is just riding the bench. I personally would still rather have Balkman getting the minutes Graham has been getting just cause Balkman seems to hustle more and gives 190% everytime he is on the court. It is suprising he does considering how little mins Karl gives him.
As for what i have seen from Graham, he is a huge guy and a very strong presence for a sg/sf just hasn't seemed to find his grove in our offense (probably cause lack of minutes).
He hasn't done anything negative either though so its still up in the air like loco said, but the nugs are off to the best start in Franchise history so his effect cant be all that negative.

Agreed. Rumur is that he works hard in practice, but I am really indifferent to the guy. I personally would prefer Balkman get the minutes, but it is not that big of deal.

He is our 9th man and doesn't crack the rotation every game. He comes in when Afflalo gets into early foul trouble and a couple of games he subbed in for Melo. He isn't asked to do a lot on the offensive end during meaningful minutes and does a decent job guarding the 2 or 3 on the defensive end. I'm sure if he played more minutes, we'd see the same things you saw in Toronto. But for right now, he doesn't really do a lot of bad or good things for the team.

Joey Who?
He is what he is.... A mediocre player with muscle. A good pick up for a practice player, because he can improve the physicality of the team, but he gets the minutes he deserves.

I like him but I would like that 4th legit big still. It's kind of like, you could go through a ton of players that fit his role - but the role of the big is the one itch that needs to be scratched.
He fits into our system but our system ain't working 100% like envisioned.
I'm still wishing we had hung onto Powe.

I like Joey
- as one of the variety defenders Karl uses to defend Kobe... after Afflalo and J.R. have done their work... to wear out Kobe. He's physical and big...
- as #1 option on offense... during garbage time... when Ty and Afflalo sit
