Looks like a freaking bargain to me. I am completely on board.
*shakes head*
Banks and O'Bryant are worthless. Larry Brown is all about defense, Calderon and Bargnani play none and are soft as tissue. Bargnani is not a good fit here because of Diaw. Pretty obvious, no need to explain.
The only good thing about the trade is losing Diop's contract. But we would get back two bloated contracts attached to 2 soft players, so yeah, uh, this trade sucks.
So is Augustin "hard?" He doesn't play any defense either, and Chandler, be honest, is horrible. So yeah, we take on long-term salary, but as so many on this board contend, we will never be able to use cap space if we DO get it, which we won't, because of the long-term deals we're already locked into. So why not turn one awful contract for a BAD player into an awful contract for a GOOD (though not great) player like Calderon?
Bargnani is 24 and having his best season as a pro right now. He's probably not going to be Dirk Nowitzki, the way he was once projected, but he could still become all-star caliber if he continues to improve. He's not a great defender, but if he were on this team he'd immediately be our most efficient scorer next to Nazr... and if there's one thing this team STILL needs, it's scoring.
