Kitna's toughness and relentless positivity have clearly rubbed off on his mates. What I really like is how the finger pointing on that team has stopped. Example from the Broncos game:
Kitna and Roy Williams had a miscommunication on an option route that cost Williams a TD catch. Instead of what we saw between Palmer and Ocho Cinco a few weeks ago, Williams and Kitna went to the sidelines after the drive and talked with Martz and Shaun McDonald. They weren't arguing, they were problem solving. And they brought Calvin Johnson over and they all shared a laugh. That's 100% Kitna right there.

Where I live is a great example. I live on the West Coast of MI, 3 hours from Detroit, 3 hours from Chicago, 3 hours from Indy, straight across the Lake from Milwaukee and the Cheeseheads. This is a predominantly Lions area but there's large representation of fans of those other teams too. But lately it's been almost all Lions stuff around here--people flying flags on their cars and at their houses, wearing Lions jerseys and apparel, talking about Lions almost exclusively on local radio. The Packer Backers are even quiet despite their 1st place team. Last year at this time it was hard to find anything Lions--it was all Bears and Colts.

To the Lions advantage though, they get the Thanksgiving day game against Green Bay AT Ford Field, the Giants game is AT Ford Field and the Dallas game is AT Ford Field.
The schedule is definitely working in the Lions favor.

Alot of things have worked in their favor but they are approaching the game with a new swagger and putting themselves in positions to win. The little things that people aren't sold on are huge upgrades over what Detroit has shown the past few years.
Mostly it's the turnovers. Before, Detroit was the team turning the ball over and giving games away, this year they are forcing turnovers that are winning them games.
Maybe they haven't beaten the best teams, but aren't good teams suppose to win the winnable games? For Detroit to become a good team, they have to win the less than thrilling matchups. They have to learn how to close out games against weaker opponents and maybe a few stronger opponents as well.
Good for the Lions organization for making offseason changes to bring in the right type of teammates that will turn the franchise around. Good for Kitna to be the leader both on and off the court to will this team to victory.
