Kevin Martin can play the SF/SG role. When Baron goes out, Gordon can run the point and Martin at the SG.

You don't think Martin can play better D at the SF spot than AL and Rasual???

This lineup will run and gun:

Baron
EG
Kevin Martin
Griffin
Camby

This assumes a different coach.

If we were rebuilding I'd take that into consideration. Mo is a heck of a scorer. The only thing I don't like is his ego, but I don't think that's a big issue. Big Z is an expiring so it's pretty much unloading Kaman. I like Baron this year, but there's no doubt that his contract is bad. We'd get a PG who's cheaper and a couple years younger. A crappy pick and some cash. Not bad.

We'd just need to get a serviceable C after this if Camby walks. Maybe work on getting Gortat from Orlando? Maybe sign and trade Camby for him in the offseason or somethin.

Camby to Cavaliers idea

Post#825 » by heathmalc » Tue Dec 8, 2009 12:23 am

Just a spur-of-the-moment idea....

Cavs get:
Marcus Camby
Baron Davis
Clippers 2nd round pick

Clippers get:

Wally Sczerbiak(S&T) so he is expiring
Mo Williams
Cavs 2010 1st round draft pick
Cash - to buy out Wally

i thought Sczerbiak was gone from the Cavs at the end of last year.
Would the Clips use Less Williams?
I would almost want Crazy (he could be the polar opposite of the Laker's Artest) Delonte West instead of Less Williams.

Chris Kaman & Utah Jazz

Post#827 » by blackham9258 » Tue Dec 8, 2009 3:51 am

Outside of Deron and the NY pick, put together a package that it would take to get him. Be reasonable, but I am very interested in finding out what it would take to get him.

Boozer plus NY pick. We get an expiring and John Wall.
If the Clippers win the championship next year I'm getting banned from RealGM

Delonte West doesn't likes the West Coast.
When he was in Seattle he made that pretty clear and got traded to Cleveland within half a season because of that.

And as far as those Cavs trades go.
No way. Those picks are glorified 2nd round picks and the other stuff is just not worth giving up Kaman.
Though, that Camby/Baron trade is alright, if you take out that 2nd round pick the Clippers don't have anyways.

@ClipperMitch:
Saying that Kevin Martin can defend sf's is just like saying that Austin Daye can defend PF's or even C's in this league, because he's tall enough.

Technically, he is gone from the Cavalier. However, the Cavaliers still hold his rights. Same set-up that Dallas had with Keith Van Horn when they traded him to the Nets in the Kidd trade....even though Van Horn was retired.

Would you guys do Calderon, Bargnani and Antoine Wright for Baron and Kaman?

Never ever.

Bargnani at center(you've got Bosh at the 4 and we got Griffin) just doens't works in this league and Baron's way better then Calderon, who's contract runs for the same amoung of years.

Thoughts on this
LAC and Chi
Rasual Butler and Ricky Davis for John Salmons and 2nd rounder

Bulls get expiring contracts the Clippers get a sixth man and a pick.

lets send kaman and davis to toronto for bosh and jack. we dump two big ass contracts and if/when bosh doesnt sign with us we have a lot of capspace. jack is as steady as pg's come. him, eric gordon and blake griffin would form the perfect threeheaded emotionless monster.

We're a quarter of the way through the season Wally isn't even signed and this guy is still trying to trade him? Wally should just retire!

I find Jack to be a solid backup PG. I've been a fan of his since he was in Portland, and I don't really think he's consistent enough to be a starter.

I'm starting to lean towards the rebuilding process though. The league just has a few teams that are completely stacked for many years. I doubt we'll be able to compete for much other than a low seed playoff spot. Lakers, Celtics, and Magic have things locked up for a little while.

Sometimes I wonder how much better this franchise would be if we did the Odom for Iverson trade back in the days.

No.
