Maybe I'm imagining things, but it just seems to me that there's a lack of killer instinct on the team, particularly on offense. They can put good drives together, get in position to take commanding leads, and too often it's a field goal and an 'Aw shucks' attitude. Play calling in the red zone looks predictable. Everything about them seems vanilla. How many times this season have the Packers had the chance to step on the throat of an opponent early only to see them having to battle hard in the 4th because they couldn't close or they let up off the gas?

A win is a win and I was expecting a battle today, but the game left a sour taste in my mouth.

I agree with you, and learning how to play with a lead was the difference between 6-10 and 10-6 for us last year. Fortunately, our defense is much better this season, but this offense needs to find a way to keep the pressure on (which I understand is tough to do without a dependable running game).

Many people wanted to see the Packers run the ball more, especially at this time of year, that happened yesterday but at the cost of getting any rythmn in the passing game. There are 2 major reasons I see as the offense lacking that killer instinct, the first reason is the most important and that is a poor offensive line. The Packers offensive line has played better the past few games but they are far from a quality offensive line, until some upgrades are made there you are going to get spotty performances. The second problem is basically mistakes, both mental and physical. This Packer teams shoots itself in the foot on half of there drives with either very stupid penalties or an unreal amount of dropped passes, the Packers really seem to have few clean drives.

I don't know what people want from the offensive line. The '98 Broncos? The 90's Cowboys?

Our running back is the very definition of average and scares absolutely no one. But he's 7th in the league in rushing and averaging a respectable 4.3 YPC. Yesterday, even if you take out the big run he still averaged 4.0 ypc.

Rodgers has taken exponentially fewer sacks in the last month and one of the two he did take yesterday was after Rodgers held onto the ball for almost six seconds.

They're not an exemplary group. But they're not the albatross that some people believe. Rodgers is getting time to throw and Grant is racking up yards.

They were earlier in the year... But recently they have been playing much, much better. I would say that they are an average offensive line.

I think Rodgers missed a couple of open guys in the red zone yesterday, he made some bad throws inside the 20.

I am a huge ARod fan, I think he is one of the top 5 QBs in the NFL right now... But he had a pretty poor game yesterday by his standards.

Our redzone playcalling has been pretty sketchy for much of the year. We'll run 3 straight shotgun sets on one trip, then run, run, short pass that doesn't reach the goal line. Yesterday though, Rodgers was pretty off, and he missed a few open guys that could have extended a drive, or put in the end zone. Jackson's 3rd down drop didn't help either.

The Packers are in a spot every playoff-caliber team dreads: Dealing with an inconsistent field goal kicker. The fourth quarter would have been much more comfortable Sunday had placekicker Mason Crosby converted a 42-yard field goal with 6:05 to play. Crosby has now missed eight field goals this season, giving him a 75-percent conversion rate. That ranks No. 29 among NFL kickers. It’s one thing to miss from beyond 50, but failing from 42 yards doesn’t inspire much confidence in the likelihood he would convert a playoff-pressure kick. But swapping out kickers at this late date, especially with someone who hasn’t been kicking in cold weather, is probably more risky than maintaining the status quo.
