pretty please? This thing looks like a total mess to me. I've got around 25 guys who've played or might play for the Jays next year? Some probably won't ever come back from injury and some are probably not legit options, but only played last year from injury. Anyway I'd love to see who people think will fit in where on a depth chart for the Jays.

Am I missing anybody? Have any of these guys been officially non-tendered or dropped so I can take them off the potential list? Best guess to me is Romero and Richmond with one of the injury guys getting back and the prospects or Roy returns filling it out unless someone really blows people away in camp. Bullpen chart is probably very subject to movement, 'cause I'll be surprised if Downs isn't moved and based on another thread Accardo sounds pretty likely too.

I'd say it depends on when the injured comes back. Not including them the starting lineup I think could be...

I think Marcum should be back and pitching at a decent level, he's the kind of pitcher that can survive a tommy john relatively well. Our defence isn't gonna be as good as last year and he's a groundball pitcher so that might be a bit of a problem.
Our rotation might look like

Romero
Zep(he's gonna be better than Romero IMO)
Cecil-He was just tired late in the season and couldn't keep the ball down, those numbers aren't really indicative of his talent
Marcum
Richmond-very good against righties, very questionable against lefties although he's shown sign of improving

Do you say Rzep is better because you really like him or because you don't think much of Romero? Does anyone see potential from anyone on that list to equal more than a #3 starter at best? I can't say I'm looking forward to next year's rotation at all. Hopefully there's someone who really just jumps out of nowhere and/or you get those magical smoke'n'mirrors type years for guys like Marcum or Litsch or Richmond who don't really have the top end stuff, but manage to have good years anyway.

Marcum - fully healthy and given the green light to pitch the full season
Romero - Nice rookie season - showed flashes of brilliance.
Rzepczynski - Everyone's quite high with him, but needs to cut down on his walk % to remain successful.
Cecil - Prospect stock took a bit of a hit last year
Richmond - Innings eater


Purcey having control issues.
Litsch recovering from TJ Surgery.

Romero has #1 potential - has a really nasty changeup that some say rivals Johan Santana's.

I think Dagger said he had #1 potential somewhere in the Roy thread too, but I really don't see it. I will fully admit I took pretty much games 100+ off last year 'cause the start and then fail just crushed me, but I've never thought of him as better than an average #2, excellent #3 potential type at his high end. Even going back as far as his draft day I haven't heard too many think of him as more than that. Now, if he turns out to be ace material, I'll thank the baseball gods, but I think that some pretty high expectations for a guy with Romero's stuff.
