OT: L.B.J. = T.O.

Post#1 » by dpaulh » Tue Dec 15, 2009 1:48 am

I can't stand Lebron's antics anymore. He is becoming basketball's T.O. No way in hell would he be doing this stuff if he had to play against the 80s Pistons or Rick Mahorn, Charles Oakley, or Charles Barkley. He would be getting laid on his ass. He is really starting to get annoying and honestly I wouldn't want my team to throw max money at him to watch this stupid show. I don't think he cares about the team anymore, he is just out there trying to be noticed. Why do great athletes do this? Just let your play speak for you like MJ, Bird, and Magic used to.

I enjoy watching Lebron James play, but I have to mute the tv, because I get annoyed listening to the announcers. I named my basketball team (not organized) at the gym I attend "Pre Lebron James" because of our ages and because we play like the 80's & early 90's. Just no time for pouting or crying!

Good luck trying to have a conversation with Lebron James if you ever run into him. I have only seen him interact with fans if a camera is around. When I was able to attend more games I had access to post game passes and Lebron James is probably one of the least likable players off the court. A autograph was the last thing on my mind during my encounters with him.

I get my entertainment when players put the ball in the basket and most of all defend. If I want to see the circus, a play, or even someone dancing (women or dance myself) I know where to go. On the other hand I would be all for offering Lebron the max and I will just watch the delayed Sports South telecast over ESPN and TNT.

Unreal talent on the court. Classless douchebag off of it!
Is it to much to ask for a team that plays hard and cares? Seems so.

I think the guy is just still young and trying to have fun.Plus the fact he's really has a silly/goofy personality. Kind of like his teammate in the middle,i do agree though he does go overboard with his antics as far as the dancing and his sportsmanship after tough losses. The Orlando series last year still irks me when he just gets the hell out of dodge when his team is on the wrong end. I have absolutely nothing against the guy and i think he's a spectacular player physically and instinctively the way he sees things happen 2-3 steps ahead of almost everyone else. I just don't have that hate blood in my body, sorry. But when he plays the Hawks i can't stand him one iota but that goes for any opposing player.

I'm not really a fan of Noah...but I was surprised that it took that long for a fellow player to call him out on his BS. Lebron guy goes off on his own little sideshow when they are blowing someone out but isn't gracious enough to shake a hand or 2 as a sign of respect when they got bounced in the playoffs? That's not even getting into the "I'm putting my name in the 2010 dunk contest"(which we all knew was a ploy) while the contest was going on or "if I don't wear 23 then no else one should" on National TV when Jordan happened to be in the building. He's the best player in the NBA but I'd wish he'd stop acting like an attention whore whenever the cameras are on him.

King James is just a spoiled guy. I think his attitude has a lot more to do with the media exposure than anything though. He's a good kid that just knows no limit cause he's what he's on the court. Now, I loved what Noah did to him though, most players don't have the guts to do that.

He's a classless, uneducated guy with a natural bobble-head.

I don't want to be misunderstood as someone who thinks athletes should not have fun. I enjoy watching the creativeness in celebrations that are not meant to show up the other team. Chad Ochocinco is hilarious to me because when he celebrates, it is all out of fun and for the entertainment of the fans. He also cares about winning. I know Lebron likes winning, but I am beginning to doubt it is the most important thing to him. I really don't think he would be happy winning a championship on a stacked team where he averages 15, 5, and 5.

I wouldn't label him to be a total classless, uneducated person. That's a bit harsh. Honestly, his tactics do annoy me at times, but when I see him, I still see the kid in him. He's still relatively young, and likes to have a good time, and sometimes I think it is cool how he interacts with his teammates. He should know better than to dance in front of a team when Cleveland is up 20 though, but the older he gets, the wiser he'll get when it comes to that stuff. He is in the mindset now that nothing can go wrong. I saw him steal a kid's french fry, then high 5 him the other night, and it just reflects back to his attitude. He wants to win, but he also wants to have fun, and he is a bit arrogant/cocky since many label him the best the league has to offer. The thing that absolutely bothers me about Lebron is the fact that he is rarely called for fouls. It's ridiculous to me that he goes most games with 0-2 fouls, but the stars do get good treatment in the league for sure. It's not his fault that he gets the calls, but it ticks me off.

I got into an argument with a Cavs fan during the playoffs last year because he wanted even more calls in favor of Lebron. I wouldn't equate Lebron with TO yet, but he's really gotten on my nerves this year. Media coverage of him makes it even worse, but I guess they are giving the fans what they think they want. I did appreciate former players siding with Noah on the dancing incident. I would suspect that they would suspend anyone heavily for self-policing a "Superstar" like Lebron even if it justified.
