I saw it posted on Mike's blog by a commenter. It's possible that this item did not appear in a column but was mentioned by Aldridge on-air.

Yes. Aldridge mentioned it on the air. IIRC, it was during a timeout in the 3rd quarter.

You're right, good memory, I knew I heard it someplace also.

Yes, DA mentioned it on air; I just want Mike to confirm, flesh out, etc.
Always remember, my friend: the world will change again. And you may have to come back through everywhere you've been.

Yeah, that was a shocker to me. I hadn't heard that. Hearing that news was worse than the watching the mostly listless effort against a team that was ripe to be upset. I honestly don't know how the Wiz stayed competitive in that game. Zero rebounds in the 2nd quarter? Disgraceful.

I've always been a fan of Brendan Haywood, but last night proved to me that if he doesn't take the Wizards current offer so be it--let someone else overpay for his services for the next 5 years. Anything over 4 years at 8 mill is really overpaying for Haywood. I know centers like Kaman aren't a dime a dozen, but if the Wizards end up with Haywood at 5 for 50 it's roughly equal to what the Clips are paying for Kaman and Haywood literally provides half of what Kaman does. Down the stretch Kaman worked Haywood, BTH simply had no answer defensively and Kaman won the game for the Clips.

This won’t be popular but BTH reminds me of Eric Dampier a lot. I know Damp isn’t the defender Haywood is, but when he was a FA in 2004 I don’t recall people saying he was a bad defender. Haywood and Damp had similar career stats in pre-contract seasons and then in Damps contract season he averaged 12 & 12. BTH is averaging roughly the same in his contract season. Damp got a monster contract which the Mavs have been regretting since he signed. I have a suspicion that Haywood’s intensity will dip after he signs a fat one and his future team will regret the monster contract he gets this off-season.

Wood is a defensive center, that is what he is, he does frustrate on the offensive end. No-matter, Wood is a gonner, I just hope we trade him this season.
