Post#1 » by chrisbh » Tue Dec 15, 2009 5:09 am

Hey guys,

Just want your thoughts...

I rate Larry Bird a basketball legend as the best basketball video i have ever watched? I love the music, the narrating, the storyline, everything about it. Discuss?

Very enjoyable VHS/DVD (obviously the latter's better, seeing how it comes with his best games).

However, "The Secret NBA" is my favorite. It talks about the Bird/Person shootouts from '91 vs. Indiana in the playoffs, goes into detail about the night Johnny Most's cigarette fell out of his hand and lit his pants on fire "right around the zipper area" (and even has the original pbp, along with Ordway's reaction), some behind the scenes footage of the Atlanta bench that was cheering Bird during the 'Nique/Bird shootout (must-see) and...the coup de grace...Kevin McHale eating a slice of pizza on the bench, holding a towel in front of the slice to try and hide the action. I don't know if it's available on DVD or not yet, but you can't go wrong with that one.

I need both of these on DVD now. I have the Bird VHS, but would like the extra stuff. Great video.

Anything about the over the backboard shot against Houston, where Craig Ehlo jumps of the bench in disbelief?
