Would you trade Rubio for...?
...ALDRICH
Let's say we are in position to draft Wall or Turner, would you trade rights for Rubio to the team that drafted or is in position to draft Aldrich?
I would say if we lucked out to get Wall it would be a done deal for me, with Turner you can debate that Rubio-Turner backcourt would be awesome and Aldrich is not worth it, but I would still do it because I like Flynn-Turner combo and Al-Aldrich-Love rotation would be one of the best in the league.

No, and I'm one who's willing to trade Rubio for chump change.

I don't see why this needed to be made outside the Rubio thread.

New Jersey has Devin Harris (and will try competing in 2010)
Utah has Williams
Memphis got burned by Rubio (and probably can draft a forward)
GSW already has Curry and Ellis

I disagree on Nets account, Harris is a chucker and having a pure pg like Rubio would be better for them, they're moving to Brooklyn, have a new overseas ownership, euro coach like Ettore Messina is quite possible, and don't tell me a rookie will help them compete in 2010, plus Aldrich is excuded for them with Lopez on board.
There also teams like Sixers, Raptors and even Wizards and Pacers who will be in top10.
Raptors would love Rubio, Sixers don't have a future pg yet, Wizards may soon have to rebuild, Pacers need a pg too.

In order
1. New Jersey. Nets probably will have the worst record in the NBA. They have a 64.3% of drafting either Wall, Turner, or Favors. Also, would free agents want to wait until the 2012-2013 season, the year Rubio could come over?
2. Minnesota -----
3. Philalphia could easily be a playoff contender in the East. Could they do this trade sure but that's assuming they are ready to wait possibly till the 2012-2013 season and don't draft Wall, Turner, or Favors. That's also assuming they don't want Aldrich, Aminu, Patterson, or some other prospect.
4. GSW. Nope
5. Washington. Can upgrade any position they really want. I also think trading for Rubio might make them look stupid.
6. Utah. Never ever ever
7. Memphis. Not going to happen
Scratch Toronto off the list, they are the 8th seed.
These are teams that don't have the luxury of happily waiting for Rubio (if you call our situation a luxury). Some of these teams just want to win now and don't want to wait until the 2012-2013 season for Rubio to play.

In this draft.
I'd trade rubio for turner or wall, and that's about it. This draft is way to stacked with bigmen. We need tons of wing help.

If Flynn keeps playing like this, I think we should trade Rubio + others for another high pick in this draft.

Re: Would you trade Rubio for...?
I see no reason to do this trade when we have Pekovic waiting.
If we have a trade set up for Pekovic then sure, but the fact remains that we should either keep Rubio or use the asset for a stud wing.

Re: Would you trade Rubio for...?
Aldrich is a better fit than Pekovic, and Aldrich for Rubio doesn't cut into cap space while paying to bring Pekovic over would.

Re: Would you trade Rubio for...?
I wouldn't trade Rubio for Aldrich. Pretty sure we could get more for Rubio than expiring Foye/Miller, though.

That is fine. I like Aldrich a lot. I am just saying that I hope we have a plan in place to flip Pekovic then.

Re: Would you trade Rubio for...?
Rubio is untradeable IMO.
It would take a very special big man to accept a role behind Al Jefferson and Kevin Love as the third option. We'll be lucky to find a good one who doesn't mind.

That would be my concern as well. It's not a good trade if we're wasting the asset. Maybe expand the deal with the same team -- Rubio + Pekovic for Aldrich + _______.
But, I think Rubio > Aldrich. Aldrich is not top 5 talent in my opinion. Rubio is.
Aldrich is not explosive and does not have an offensive post up game. Thus, I don't think he'll be a difference maker on either side of the ball. Defensively, he's going to be more like Pryzbilla or Haywood than he is Howard or Oden.

Re: Would you trade Rubio for...?
I wouldn't plan around Pekovic. He still would belong to us anyway, I don't see it as wasting an asset. If we're going to trade Rubio, I'm not sure we're going to get much better value than this.

Re: Would you trade Rubio for...?
I'd prefer to trade Ricky for a known commodity, personally. Not for someone who has yet to prove he's not the next Patrick O'Bryant. Don't forget, Aldrich has roughly the same amount of talent around him at Kansas as he would on the Wolves.

Well lets go further Lets say you get the first pick and draft Wall. You move Flynn for Turner. Then move Rubio for Aldrich. If this happened I wouldn't be upset but I think Rubio is worth more a lot more. We would have to see what team is in position to pick Aldrich and if they have an extra asset they would be willing to part with. Couple this with signing Gay and Pek if possible.
Wall, Sessions
Turner, Ellington
Gay, Brewer
Jefferson, Love
Aldrich, Pekovic
Not a bad young core to build with for the future.

Re: Would you trade Rubio for...?
The mere hype that Rubio has built around him makes him untradeable to me.
The kid supposedely has the chance to reolutionise the game. You just dont trade that without giving it a look.

Speaking of which. I was going to make a thread, but why not just talk about it here?
What would you trade for Randolph? Besides Devilz, who would trade Rubio, of course.
