Backup PG
With Quis coming back to form being an uncertainty, is it wise for Boston to target a nice vet back up who may get bought out soon. Who is available so that Rondo doesn't need to play 40 MPG. Anyone on the cusp of being bought out? I'm thinking Antonio Daniels.

Re: Backup PG
If anything I think we'll see Lue as our backup PG not long from now.

Re: Backup PG
admittedly, I miss about 30-40 percent of the games, but I am not seeing MD playing point for our second unit. Usually it is House or ray or Paul if still in that take the ball up. I know people said he would play point before the season, are people just sicking to that notion in spite of what we have seen. I'd love to see a stat on how many times he takes the ball up vs House.
I think at some point a vet back up point makes a lot of sense, in case Rondo goes out, but I do not see MD as really related to this.

Re: Backup PG
say what you want about his stats, but stephon marbury was a good backup PG last year as far as running an offense.

MD does bring the ball up some of the time. Its House/MD/Pierce that kind do some PG stuff. MD also does trigger some plays in the half court. I think his ball handling is as advertised - very good for a guy his size. House is fairly terrible for a guy his size - but he is short so that does provide some advantages (the ball is closer to the floor).

I agree. Marbs would have been good for another season with us if he didn't flake out. There was def something going on behind closed doors. I think if he caused any problems we would have heard about it. I mean what motivation would anyone have to keep quiet about it? Did we offer him another contract? It is almost certainly too late now as I doubt he is in shape.

I watched a little Starbury TV over the summer, and the guy's sense of self-worth is so inflated. Someone asked him why he didn't sign with the Celtics, and he said something along the lines of "I don't wanna play for the minimum. It's basically like I'm playing for free."
And yes, I agree that there was definitely something going on behind closed doors. I recall during preseason that Marbury was calling out Pierce on twitter.
