Nah, I actually like Kobe. He is a top 3 MVP candidate imo. JM makes posts saying "nobody is impressed by Lebrons stats."

Your sig is hilarious. You are clearly a Kobe fan/Lebron hater. Actually most people said Lebron was clearly the best player in the league last year. Check the realgm polls and check the mvp polls, I think KObe managed 1 first place vote on a 65 win team

GTFO with that (Please Use More Appropriate Word) argument. We established 20 pages ago the flaws in this argument, and nobody buys it...other than Lebron fans. If Lebron finished with less wins than last year on a upgraded team, he wins nothing. He gets a pass if and only if he finishes with the leagues best record...but 58 -62 wins and the 3rd seed in the East isn't going to cut it.It will be just like last year---LeBron proves he is the best player in the NBA while the Lakers prove they are the best team in the NBA.

More people think Kobe is the best player than Lebron...they did a poll and everything. Furthermore, why don't we see if Lebron can get out of the East before we start awarding him that Label. Kobe has it hands down for now.

I don't care what the one from last year said...I'm going by the one that came out three weeks ago. And I know you hate me because I call you on your bulls***, but I mostly come out looking like a Lebron hater because I'm always attacking you. You think I'm a Kobe fanboy because I think Kobe gives you a better shot at winning a title than Lebron, no matter what team you put them on. And I'm ok with that, and I won't argue with you about it.
In truth, I believe Lebron is a victim of the system in which he plays. It's great for his numbers, but bad for winning in the playoffs. Mike Brown is an idiot, and he should have been fired two years ago. How he got the job in the first place is beyond me, but I still say if you put Lebron in the Spurs system, or the Lakers system...his teams would be virtually unbeatable. His numbers might take a hit, but once he learned how to play efficiently in that system the skies the limit. Jordan didn't become truly great until he stopped fighting the Triangle. Kobe wasn't considered the best in the league until he stopped fighting the triangle back in 06. Similarly, Lebron needs to be put in a system that is more conducive to winning. Any offense that puts all of it's eggs into it's best player is bound for failure. And although Lebron can stuff the box scores better than anyone else in the league, he won't become truly great until he finds himself in good system, and runs with it.
Physically, Lebron is the best player in the game....hands down. But overall, the best player is Kobe. I don't see how you can dispute that. Even with his diminishing physical abilities, the guy adjusts his game accordingly and doesn't miss a step. He had one bad game against Utah and figured out tonight how to put up 42 with a broken index finger on his shooting hand. He'll find away to be competitive no matter who's around him, no matter how stifling the competition. He's cold blooded....no way Lebron even thinks about stepping on the court with a broken hand. And I say that with complete confidence because back in 07, he missed a couple weeks because of a "strained index finger on his NON shooting hand.
Also for me, I find it really hard to believe that Shaq is THIS bad...even at 38. He's better than Z, he's better than Ben Wallace. Is he slow? Hell yeah, but he's a half court player, and Cleveland is for the most part a half court team. Lebron has to be able to find away to use Shaq effectively. He's effing SHAQ. I find it hard to believe that a team can win 66 games one year, upgrade the center position from Z to SHAQ, and be worse. If Kobe can find away to make Kwame Brown and Chris Mihm effective, Lebron has to find a way to make effing SHAQ effective.......that's what MVP's do.
For all these reasons....Kobe is the MVP right now, and he has a fairly sizeable lead. if I had to put numbers on it.
1. Kobe 100
2. Lebron 91
3. Melo 91
4. Nash 80
Everyone else.

I misspoke when I said that. What I was trying to convey was simply that numbers mean nothing to me unless you come away with the victory. And HELL YES, Lebron's numbers are impressive....and that's great and all...but do those numbers give you the best chance to win every night? Kobe could average 35 per game if he wanted too, and he fully displayed that when Pau and Bynum were out earlier this season averaging 33.1 when Pau came back. For me the MVP is defined by this....if you need to win one game...no matter who the supporting cast is, and you can have any player in the league, who would you take. I like your numbers Lebron, but I'm taking Kobe.

MVP is not a best player award Unless you believe Steve Nash was the best player in the game for two years... Most people with actual influence in basketball think Kobe is still better than Lebron. Lebron is #2 which isn't bad for a young man like him. And what do we care what realgm thinks? Most of my friends (Kobe haters, btw) think Kobe's better than Lebron. Go to a barber shop or a YMCA or a college gym...seriously, it isn't even close with the general basketball public.

Tell me this, if you're GM of the Lakers, would you trade Bynum/Gasol/Artest/Fisher/bench for Shaq/Hickson/Parker/Mo/bench? If I'm Danny Ferry, I take that trade before you change your mind.
