Carlos Boozer
Looks liek the Jazz are wanting to package him and the Knicks pick and ship him out, I think we should jump on this chance personally. Chance to ship TJ out maybe, what do you guys think? We could potentially have two lottery picks if we do it.

Why would Utah want TJ?

Are you suggesting Boozer and Knicks 1st for TJ?

Re: Carlos Boozer
I was doing some research and my roommate is a hardcore Jazz fan, AND as much as I would love to see Boozer or Millsap with the Pacers, we just don't have anything of value that Utah would want. Plus, they seem pretty content with their team. When they play well, they are really solid, and I don't think they want to mess with what they have going. Maybe I'm wrong.

Re: Carlos Boozer
Short of Granger or Hibbert, we really have nothing that Utah would want, nor that would be anywhere near value of Carlos Boozer (who at the least is an expiring contract) and/or the Knicks pick.
Not TJ Ford. They have Deron Williams.
Not Brandon Rush. He's not playing his value up, and they have Ronnie Brewer.
Not Hansbrough. They have Kirilenko and Millsap there, even if they move Boozer.
What else? Our 1st rounder? Could possibly be worth more than the Knicks 1st rounder.

Well, If we got Boozer then NY first rounder would be better. No?

Re: Carlos Boozer
Probably not. He's better than what we've got, but I'm not sure exactly how he fits in. I think the only way he makes us significantly better is to play him alongside Murphy, which gives Hibbert even less playing time and hurts us in the future. I've never been a huge fan of Boozer, though, so maybe I'm underrating him.

Odds of the Pacers obtaining Boozer in a trade 1 in 39 million!

Re: Carlos Boozer
We've got a lot of white boys that might interest Utah. I am not trying to be insensitive because #1 I am caucasian, and #2everybody says the same about us.
Seriously though, I could see the Jazz wanting some of our vets like Foster and Dunleavy. Jeff would instantly b/u Okur or Milsap, and Dunleavy could add a lot of versatility starting over Miles or coming off the bench. Utah is on the cusp of contending and this could be a better strategy instead of committing money elsewhere.

Re: Carlos Boozer
Aside from Granger, I see little that we could put together to net both Boozer AND the NY pick. As for Boozer alone, I'm not sure what they would be after, but Boneman is right in that both Dunleavy and Foster should at least interest them.
I wonder how interested they are in adding excess future salary at this point though. Considering Millsap, Deron and AK47 currently, they're pretty stretched.

Utah has a shot this season, and they probably feel Milsap is better than Boozer anyway. They won't resign Carlos and would probably like to get something in return, but w/o the long-term commitments. Both are solid veterans with appropriate contract-lengths (AK expires the same year). The alternative is to let Boozer expire and draft a lottery pick whose total salary would surpass Foster's and be a little less than Dunleavy's, not too mention he'd take a few seasons to develop. I guess it depends on their sense of urgency. If need be, I'd throw in Rush to make them think they're getting something.
Regardless, for Indiana the incentive wouldn't be a one-year rental, it would be the first round pick. Next years draft will be one that will offer many opportunities..... * edit..... Opportunitites to draft franchise players.

Re: Carlos Boozer
If theres a trade out there for TJ I'd hope it be something along the lines of McGrady for Ford & Murphy
