Warriors Open To Trades - Could We Target Anthony Randolph?

Post#1 » by truthbtold21 » Wed Dec 16, 2009 5:34 pm

Team and league sources confirmed Tuesday that the Warriors have included Anthony Randolph's name in trade discussions.

The Warriors aren't necessarily eager to trade Randolph, but are exploring all options.

Randolph was deemed the starting power forward in the offseason and was invited to participate in Team USA's training camp in Las Vegas after a dominant summer league.

But one Eastern Conference executive said Randolph's stock is down around the league.

A team source said the Warriors don't want to trade guards Monta Ellis, Stephen Curry and Anthony Morrow but aren't in a position to overlook any option

This trade works:

Boris Diaw
DJ Augustine

for

Azubuike
Randolph
Claxton's expiring

However - considering our logjam at the wing, something like this might make more sense:

Diaw, Augustine out

Randolph, Turiaf, Claxton's expiring in.

This completely wipes out the GSW frontcourt, so it's a reach, but seems to make sense financially.

Welcome to the board MPM. Hope to see you posting some more.

I can't see the GSW's wanting/needing DJ at all with Ellis and Curry already on the roster.

I really like what Boris brings to the table in the way of skill set, but I would trade him in a nano second for Randolph.

Of course, Larry Brown would probably ruin him.

Uh oh! The start of the LB mutiny! :) I'm right there with you. I dont think we have the pieces to trade for Randolph since they dont need DJ involved.

Thanks BigSlam. Been playing peeping Tom here for about of year - enjoy the GT's a lot...some of them really have me rolling. Was a regular on the CLT Observer board for a few years before the boycott trolls starting stinking the joint up.

Yea, DJ would be a stretch (even though crazy Don would probably pee his pants with joy to run five 6' speed demons hoisting up 3's), but was all i could come up with in terms of equitable value. I would LOVE to have Randolph on this team.

I don't see the Warriors going after a 3 inch shorter version of Steph Curry in DJ. Also don't see us going after Randolph, the kid is way too raw to get playing time under Brown. I could see Turiaf being a target but apparently the W's love him.

A 3 inch shorter version of Steph Curry could shoot.

Tonight Randolph had 18 pt,9 reb in just 23 min as GSW beat Boston. KG had 16/9 but needed 32 min to do it.
Randolph started at PF for GSW who finally had Biedrins back.

A couple weeks ago AR started at C vs Orlando. Randolph scored a career high 28 with 13 reb,5 asst....all stats better than Dwight Howard had. Maybe GSW is run by fools but if your 20 yr old can break even matched against Dwight and KG, I think you have to figure he can be a real good player.
A couple games ago he had a career best 8 blocks.

Why Nelson ration's this guy's minutes remains a mystery. Nelson, however, may only be coaching another 4-5 months while Randolph may play another 15 yr. Easy to figure who's expendable.
CENSORED... No comment.
