Great game by David Andersen.

Too bad it was a lost cause.

Chris Anderson is complaining....seriously???

First free throw for the Rockets in the second half comes with less than a minute left.

Denvers commentary team is really bad, not Drexler bad, they are just homers.

Man....you know these refs are pissed at Cookie for hitting that shot!

Um...not suggesting that they're Donaghy'ing the game...but they needed 10 points or legs be broken! ;)

Yeah, it's unfortunate that the team is without its top 2 options. But I don't blame Ariza for playing out of his role.

Stat of the game...

Rockets lost by 10 pts and Tmac has a -10 for his 7 min playing time.

Last night, Rocket won by 11 pts and Tmac had +12 for his 7 min playing time.

The above Meaningless stat says Tmac is the X factor :D

Can't wait for next game...

I agree. Chris Marlowe has got to be the worst play-by-play guy in the league. He just doesn't know the game very well, and it's extremely irritating to watch. Scott Hastings is a major homer - he's one of those guys I imagine isn't very fun to listen to as a non-Nuggets fan.

So I wasn't overly happy about our ref-induced 4th quarter collapse last night after hanging with the Nuggets for 3 quarters.

http://www.vegasinsider.com/nba/matchup ... e/12-16-09

Sure enough... Denver by 8.5 and we lost by 10 on EXTREMELY shady officiating.
Was totally not a great opportunity to pull a Donaghy on a non-nationally televised game last night.

But then I realized that it was only Donaghy, and he's out of the league, so there's no way this happened.
That's some tasty Kool-Aid!

(post moved from its own thread into here after noticing that "why yes, I was awfully slow about realizing that" and 3 other people had already said the same thing :P )

McGrady made some nice passes last night, too bad the players couldn't convert, I think they're gonna slowly allow him to take shots and get into the rotation, he also looked fantastic on defense from the highlights that I caught.

Another terrible fact to note: Ariza is in the top 12 in FGA, he's the only player to shoot under 38% FG, he's also shooting 32% from behind the arc on 7 three point attempts per game.....I'm starting to realize Ron Artest WAS better for us...at least he he shot 40% from both angles....

I've been wondering about that a lot this season, and think I'll still take Ariza's lower FG% in the flow of the offense over Artest's completely stopping the offense and taking bad shots at critical times - especially when Ariza eventually won't have the role he's in right now and will have his FG% come back up to normal.

Red94 website has a good analysis on Tmac's performance in the game vs Nuggets. Very detail possession by possession analysis. link is here: http://www.red94.net/

For those lazy to read, the article found Tmac to be good defensively and an elite passer but lack in effort in transition defense.
# The club didn’t score on any of McGrady’s touches. And I expect that this will be used as proof that he can’t fit into this offense. Is this really fair? There will be a natural re-adjustment process for both Tracy and the team. I think it’s simply too myopic to preclude any possible benefits he may bring on the basis of a 5 minute spurt where he and his teammates were clearly not yet acclimated to one another. It’s easy to forget that they have only shared the court for 10 minutes.
# To the bad: Obviously there was the sequence where Tracy made no attempt to stop the ball on the fastbreak, but overall, the offensive flow slowed down noticeably with McGrady on the floor. For the most part, teammates stood and watched when he ISOed.

Yeah, I liked what I saw from him defensively yesterday, aside from that fastbreak play mentioned where it looked like he didn't make much an attempt to stop. He's looking better defensively than offensively in the limited minutes he's played.
