This One Is For LA Laker Fans....

Post#1 » by infinite11285 » Thu Dec 17, 2009 5:13 pm

I thought about Kobe's game winners over his career and I can't recall a game winner in the post season. If you guys can provide stories/footage, I would appreciate it. When I tried to recall a Kobe post season winner the only two guys that materialized in my head were either Derek Fisher or Robert Horry.

Now I'm in NO WAT a Laker hater (some LA fans can attest to this) and this is not a bait thread. My soon to be fiance (I'm proposing at the Cavs v. Lakers game in Staples) is a DIE HARD Lakers fan. She actually said she would rather have Fisher take the game winning shot rather than Kobe in the post season.

So, clock is at 2 seconds...post season victory is on the line; who do you want taking the shot? Kobe or Fisher/Horry?

I'd rather give the ball to Fisher/Horry WIDE OPEN off of the attention Kobe draws, over Kobe being contested & double-teamed. SHOCKER!

Well if it comes down to someone creating their own shot, the advantage is Mamba. If it came down for one shot (less than 2 seconds), I think I would let Fisher take it.

Kobe had a game winner against the Spurs. I think 01 or 02. It was putback I believe.

Kobe basically won game 4 2000 NBA finals in the closing minutes after Shaq fouls out. Hit multiple clutch shots in OT.

Gamewinner over Jason Kidd in the first or 2nd round 2000 playoffs.

I remember the putback against Spurs, I think it was off a missed FT, he got the ball off between Duncan and somebody else.

Thanks for the replies, however, who do you want to take the shot? Kobe or Fisher/Horry?

While it wasn't at the buzzer, nevertheless another game winner in the playoffs against Phoenix (2000):

Whoever has the best shot. The ball should be in Kobe's hands and if he has a good shot, he should take it. If not, Fisher or Horry open should take it. The options are just as good as each other.

Fish partly because Kobe sees a different type of D in those moments, partly because Fish is money when you need a miracle. Rob is an awesome choice because of his size advantage out there vs perimeter D, but I take Fish.
