Proposed Trade With Kings

Post#1 » by RichBoy923 » Thu Dec 17, 2009 10:01 pm

Charlotte receives:
Jason Thompson
Kenny Thomas

Kings Receive:
Boris Diaw
Gerald Henderson
Future 1st round pick

I was bored so I decided to make trade for true 4.

I was a huge fan of Thompson when he came out of Rider and thought he'd be a huge factor in the NBA. He reminds me a lot of LeMarcus Aldridge. My only concern would be if Thompson and TC could play together. At least with Diaw in the game it stretches the defense. I doubt the Kings would do this because he is loved by Sacramento. What do you guys think? Any tweaking you could do that would be more enticing for the Kings?

Kings aren't doing that. I doubt they would want to take on Diaw at his current contract and they have no need for Henderson. Augustin would be of much more value to them. I don't see any one-on-one deal working with the Kings that would net us Thompson. Wallace is the only player on our team of equal value, but the Kings need Thompson much more than they would need Wallace. A Martin/Evans combo on the wings is about as good as it gets.
Humble yourself.

If I was the Kings I wouldn't trade Thompson unless he was in some kind of package to get a star caliber player. I don't think we have the tools on our roster anymore to grab him since his value has increased.

Yeah that's what I thought. I just love Thompson as a player and love to see him in Charlotte, but it looks improbable.

I just think so many teams are in better position for the future than us and the Kings are one of them.

The Kings have been a fun team to watch this season that's for sure. Evans and Casspi are playing great as well as Thompson and Greene. That's 4 draft picks in the last two years having very positive impact on the team. Definitely something I think we'd all like to see here.

Can we even trade a future 1st? I know you can't have 2nd future 1sts traded but since ours is conditional next year, I don't know how that works?

Yeah they are. Greene, I don't think was drafted by the Kings though. I remember seeing him on the Rockets at one point. But building through the draft is always a good strategy. But we've had bad luck with the lottery and and have had some busts.

That's a good question. If I had to bet we couldn't do that. I forgot about the 1st we owed from Ajinca. So if that is the case, this trade is even less appealing than it already was.

I watched Tyreke on Wednesday night for the 1st time in the NBA as he did pretty much exactly what I thought he would do once he got into the NBA. Went where he wanted, how he wanted and caused havok on the defensive end.

Kid was made for the NBA game.
