The Warriors don't give up their top asset, their draft pick, for a player rental that won't mean a thing to the outcome of their season. Maybe they would consider taking Okur for their expirings. That's about it.

I would rather trade Kirilenko and Okur, along with the Knicks pick, to NJ for expirings and Brook Lopez. Lopez is number 17 in efficiency in the NBA. Boozer is 6 and Williams is 11. With that triumphirate (you resign Boozer) and a supporting cast of Miles, Mathews, Millsap, Price and Fesenko, you have the makings of a really strong team for the next five years. I didn't include Maynor in that list because I may have to add him to the package for Lopez. Okur, Kirilenko and D. Harris would be the top Nets at this time, but two very high draft picks this summer would change all that.

I'd be very tempted by that deal, but:

1) I don't think it works CBA-wise

2) Why does NJ do it?

If the Jazz had some could manage to trade for Brook Lopez than I would do it no matter what the cost as long as we didn't have to trade Deron but there is no way NJ trades away Lopez. NJ is going to have a hard enough time landing a FA next year and Lopez is the one thing that may draw some interest from FA. The big FA's are going to be attracted to NJ because of Lopez because history shows that big men win championships and Lopez is one of the up and coming big time big men.

If LeBron is looking for a young nucleus of talent to build a new team around he can't do much better than Devin Harris and Brook Lopez.

Why not throw in Turiaf? The Jazz need a rotation player to come back in any Boozer trade.

Obviously this season is a mess and bringing in Boozer won't do enough to matter. GSW does not need some feel good patch, they need long term assets...including, obviously, that pick and players like Turiaf

Further...a dumb short sighted deal with a WEST team is double damage. The idea is to close the gap. Here, GSW does something that BURNS GSW the next 5+ years and helps Utah.

Obviously,the deal is especially problematic as well over $10 mill in Salary fill has to go to Utah.
To GSW Boozer is a large expiring...nothing more. GSW is not gonna be NBA champs this year. The future is what does matter.
