How about we get our old Jones's back to pair up with our new Jones's?

But seriously, why are we still talking about Jerryd Bayless?

Silly everyone knows you need FIVE guys to start a game!!! :D

Perhaps the people that seem to think Bird is a bad GM want him to make right on a 'bad' decision by getting back a player he let 'get away'.

Or perhaps, our Mod jumped us for inactivity, and we have reasorted to creating topics for shear quantity rather than quality!!

Dahntay Jones has an annoying name to spell, and Hansbrough is tough. TJ Ford is easy, AJ Price is easy, Diener is a bit challenging, and Brandon Rush is easy. Roy Hibbert is easy, Solomon Jones is easy if you remember it's all o's. Josh McRoberts is pretty easy.

If we are building our roster based on spelling, why not become the Indiana Hillbillies and build our roster around guys named William's' (aka Bill)

PG: Deron Williams
SG: Mo Williams
SF: Marvin Williams
PF: Sheldon Williams
C: Sean Williams

6th man: Jason Williams
Bench: Jawad, Louis, Marcus, and Terrance Williams

Maybe we can even get Roy Williams to be our coach!!

Tisk tisk! How could you forget every Pacers fan's favorite Williams, Shawne. Speaking of weird spellings, what the hell is with the E on the end of his first name?

Straight off the back of an And1 shirt: The 'E' is like his game: Silent and Useless!

I actually didn't forget him, I was just fearful of the flamewar his name might envoke.

Seemed a little sketchy to me. I would think if he had it would've made more than just a realgm article. Didn't see anything about on ESPN.com or elsewhere.

the one 'mention' of a rumor that Bayless requested a trade was mad by a columnist in Portland who has a fairly ragged reputation.

likely it's just gas

He impressed me as an arrogant crybaby punk, a loser, and a potential big time cancer. I don't want the arrogant prima donna anywhere near our roster.

There's a reason he isn't getting playing time in Portland, and I'll bet the rent his attitude has a hell of a lot to do with it.

I remember somebody here, and I think it was you, trying to sell that line when the Blazers and Pacers made that trade in the 2008 draft.

It was garbage then and it's garbage now.

There has never been anything out of Bayless that hasn't been professional. He's widely acknowledged as being about the hardest working player on the roster, both during the off-season and the season. He voluntarily went to Indiana this last summer to work with Oden. He hasn't uttered a peep publicly about his playing time, and simply put, has been a credit to the team.

Of course he's not happy with his playing time, but his response has always been to be patient and work harder.

He has the disadvantage to be playing for a coach who is notoriously hard on young PG's. And when Bayless arrived, he had very remedial PG skills. But he is improving. Add that improvement and his work ethic to his incredible athleticism, strength, and quickness, and there's a good chance that Bayless will work himself into the rotation sooner rather then later

you lost your rent...bad bet

Personally, I remember being EXTREMELY excited that we drafted Bayless. My buddies and I left the draft party before they announced the trade, so when I got home and got a phone call from one of my friends saying we traded Bayless I was pretty upset. I do think that Bayless has much more upside than Rush still, and while Rush has become one of my favorite Pacers (I've still got faith that he can be something), given the opportunity to have Bayless again I would definitely be a fan of bringing him on board. Hell I'd even start him over Ford.

Portland is absolutely getting killed by the injury bug right now as some of you may know. So Bayless actually got a decent amount of minutes last night. Stat line...

29 minutes
29 points (9/15 FG, 2/3 3pt FG, 9/12 FT)
3 rebounds
4 assists
2 turnovers
2 fouls
+/- = +13

Blazers win over Phoenix

Yesterday, I could watch the game of Blazers @ Spurs.

It was the first time I saw Bayless playing for considerable minutes....and he impressed me so much that I've never regretted trading him for Rush, but after last night's game I think we should have kept Jerryd. And I really likes Rush, especially on D.

But the guy is amazing, so fast, drives very well to the basket and has a very good outside shooting. The only problem in my opinion, is that he's more of a SG than a PG...Iverson like guard.

If he's really on the block, I think we should target him...and bring the boy back to Pacers.

Yeah he had another big game with 31 points and propelled Portland to that win WITHOUT Brandon Roy in the lineup. Bayless is really starting to look like he's going to be a very solid player.
