Salary dump--that would be the only reason. Beno is playing great, but for how long? Obviously, I'd rather move Noc, but particularly with the way Sergio is playing...I mean especially if we can move Noc, moving Beno could mean some real future cap space.

you guys prefer sergio over beno? is this just because of contract? or do you prefer the way sergio plays over beno's? cause one thing i haven't seen anybody talk about is beno's experience lets not forget beno has 2 championships.....one of which he contributed quite a bit when he was in san antonio......what would you rather have in the playoffs a guy with PO experience (championship) and a guy that can teach our youngs how a championship is won and how a championship team feels like? or a guy that plays fine (sergio) but does not have a lick of experience in the post-season......sergio is great....but lets be honest.....with the team we have, and the fact that we'll get a good big in the draft (hopefully)....we don't have an urgent need to clear that much salary cap.....so its not like his contract is hurting us more than he's helping...

Yes. Otherwise, I would entirely prefer Beno. But that contract is a big difference-maker.

We don't need cap space per se, but if we clear it, we can potentially use it to make a big signing.
