Bret "The Hitman" Hart signs with the WWE?

Post#1 » by pduh01 » Wed Dec 16, 2009 11:18 pm

I don't know how true this is and how reliable this source is but check this out.

Source: The Wrestling Observer Newsletter

According to a WWE source who would have full knowledge of the situation, Bret Hart has indeed signed a short-term talent contract with World Wrestling Entertainment,

The WWE Hall of Famer signed the this past week and it will cover the period from 1/1 to 4/10, or through WrestleMania and about two weeks after the 3/28 show at the University of Phoenix Stadium in Glendale, AZ.

Hart simply told a reliable source that he wasn't going to lie about anything and thus wasn't going to comment on this story.

It was said that Hart wanted his signing to be kept quiet and his return to be a surprise, but that WWE couldn't help itself but all but announced it publicly on the first RAW after the ink was dry.

http://wrestlinginc.com/news/wi/2009/12 ... ndex.shtml

If true this is big news while I could see him guest host on RAW and of course if it's true should be interesting.

But of course I don't beleive it until I see it myself.

Thoughts?

He physically can't wrestle. He's said it plenty of times.

I'm aware he can't wrestle I do not see him wrestle at all since as you pointed out that Bret stated that he can't physically wrestle.

But that won't stop him making possible appearance if it is indeed true it will be interesting what role Bret will have if assuming his contract lasted after Wrestlemania 26.

I just don't see what kind of role he'd play. The 'Oh cool, it's the hitman' appeal would wear off after one show.

I've been marking out so much since I first found out today. I'm praying - PRAYING - this gets The Hart Dynasty the huge push they deserve and even expands the team. They're the best throwback the WWE has going right now.

Also, in recent interviews Bret has talked about actually coming back for one more match. He said anything is possible, so who knows.

They're definitely talented. I just wish that Tyson Kid would cut those dumbass bangs off. Makes it hard to root for someone who looks so damn ridiculous. LOL!

I know how I'd like Bret used but I'm sure there's no way WWE would do it, and that's Bret along with his nephew and Tyson Kidd feuding with a heel DX and Vinnie Mac.

The storyline would start with something along the lines of Brett coming out along with DH, Tyson and Natalya. He calls out Vince for screwing him. Vince comes out, the two of them go back and forth for a minute or two and then DX's music hits. They come and Shawn says 'It wasn't just Vince, we were in on it and if we had the opportunity we'd do it again.' He gets in Bret's face which leads to DH Smith nailing him and a Hart Dynasty-DX brawl starts. While Bret is watching this, Vince sucker punches him and then him and DX high tail it out of there. While Bret is on the ground he announces Hart Dynasty vs DX for tonight. In the match, Tyson Kidd puts HBK in the sharpshooter and the ref calls for the bell declaring the Hart Dynasty tag champs although HBK didn't tap. The show concludes with Bret along with Tyson, DH and Natalya smiling while DX is in the ring seething.

This storyline goes on for the next couple of months and concludes with a 6 man tag of Bret and the Hart Dynasty vs Vinnie Mac and DX.

You beat me to the punch, I was thinking the only thing you can do with the Hitman character beyond the novelty of a guest appearance would be to bring back the Toronto screw job. I cant see the fans turning on DX for the Harts though. I would have the Harts be the heels and have them focus on attacking the McMahons, Natalya on Stephanie, Brett on Vince, the others on DX. Maybe even bring back the Anvil and DB Smith.

It was the Montreal Screwjob and Davey Boy passed away a few years ago. : /

I can see a Bret-Vince match at Wrestlemania, but I'd hate to see Bret come back if he's not capable of wrestling well these days.

Well that maybe true in most cases which we have seen guys still wrestle or making a come back to wrestle. However, as much I want to see Bret Hart wrestle one more watch I hope he doesn't wrestle and take any bumps what so ever because of his health issues I'm afraid that one bump and one mistake that can cripple the man for life or cause his life.

For his own sake I hope he doesn't wrestle and take any bumps for what so ever.

Especially if his match is with a non-wrestler like Vinnie Mac. I'm guessing he will be coming back for one more match especially if his contract expires after WM. That's why I think it should be in a 6 man tag. That way his nephews can do all the heavy lifting and he can come in for spot duty and get the pin at the end.

You mean the submission? Just wouldn't be right not seeing him slap the Sharpshooter on someone to end the match.

So does anyone think that there's a chance Bret really DOESN'T host Raw tonight? I'm still sorta in "I'll believe it when I see it" mode.

He is not hosting RAW tonight it's Johnny Damon hosting raw.

Rumors has it that Bret may host on RAW on Jan 4th which goes head to head against TNA which at the time Hogan will finally debut in TNA.
