Celtics didn't play well tonight, weren't motivated. They aren't going to win every game, 20 - 5 and on top of the East, no big deal at all.

+1 lets not overreact. WE WON 11 GAMES IN A ROW

how can we win 10 games in a row on the road ( or whatever it is) and come home and play like this? once again we played down to the competition. I could see this coming from midway of the 3rd qt. rasheed fouling out was a big loss butinstead of getting fired up about it we let it deflate us. I'm not sure where Pierce's head is right now but he needs to get more aggressive. No free throw attempts tonight. maybe he's hurt. he did take a pounding in one of the recent games. tony allen gave us a lift but scal sucked again. I would rather have seen shelden williams in there. we reverted to poor rebounding again tonight. if we had taken care of the glass we never would have lost this game. this was a very discouraging loss. Just when I started thinking that maybe we are a championship we go out and lose a game like this. it's inexcusable for a team that thinks it can win a title

See, these are the types of games that the Lakers would win...because every questionable call would go their way. I hate to gripe about officiating after a loss, but it was pretty wonky going both ways, until the end, where I saw a few times that Pierce got mugged and didn't get the call. Letting the players play is great when it comes to the ticky tack stuff, but some of the non-calls left me scratching my head.

But you have to give Philly credit. They could have tucked down their tails and let the Celtics drub them, but the hung in there. And Brand, naturally, decides to remember how to play while playing against the Celtics. It didn't help that the Celtics decided winning was overrated in the second half. There's a decided lack of passion when they play at home. It's very odd. Where's the pride in defending the Garden?

Any team that can't win at least 15 straight is garbage. :blank:

In all seriousness they laid an egg down the stretch, and a team like Philly who's come up short in a lot of close games this year is hungry as **** when you let them hang around like that. We were on a roll on the road, I don't mind them losing a game like this to snap them back into reality. They haven't lost in 4 weeks, they were due for one of these.

The fact that all but one of the losses came at home on a Friday night is puzzling, but with 29 home games ahead I'm not worried about it. It seems more about focus and effort than anything else, and that's something that can always be improved upon.

LOL at the overreactions. We're the best team in the league one day and after a rare bad game, just like that, a sad pathetic bunch? C'mon now. Take in in stride. We're 21-5 -- best record in the East, 2nd best in the league. No Baby, no Daniels, and no Sheed in the 2nd half. We're a championship contender with or without the Friday home losses. Go out, have a couple of drinks, chase some tail and we'll see you here again on Sunday.

Right - it is FAR better and more important to beat up on the lesser teams. I'd give back the whole 11 game win streak if we could have won this one back. I mean if you're going to lose - lose to the good teams. Come to think of it- why lose at all?

Lakers, Magic and Hawks are teams the celtics cannot beat in a 7 game series. You do not see an elite team like the lakers losing to a team that has lost 15 out of 16 games. No excuse for this loss at all.

wow i'm a magic fan and even i think you are overreacting..... you guys almost had it honestly i thought you were gonna easily smoke this team as a warm up for Christmas. You guys are arguably the best in the league right now so you'll be fine. Good luck on the rest of the season and i look forward to the Christmas game and the playoffs and i hope we are both full strength when that time comes

I slept thru the game (fortunately) because I am utterly exhausted trying to meet a 1/6/2010 deadline, and now I am awake since 4 AM - sigh.

Even as the fiercest most ardent supporter of Paul on this board, I grant you that he played like **** tonight. More than that, he has been very average, too passive, and "off his game" for the past 10 games or so. It is very strange because he was playing like a first team All Pro and league MVP for the first 15 games this year. Doc said this about 2-3 weeks ago in an article in the Herald.

I guarantee you and will bet anyone a thousand bucks that very shortly he will return to "All Pro" Truth.
So just **** chill out, people.

I **** love how we have 4 page threads when we win 11 games in a row, and then the doomsayers led by you know who return and we double the size of the threads with overreacting pure utter bull and whining and bitching and preposterous negativity after we have 1 **** embarrassing loss. The "elite" Tragic lost by 30 to Miami the other day. Cleveland has 7 losses. The Fakers were giftwrapped a
win by a douchebag ref against the Bucks a few days ago.

We are 20-5, goddamit. Joe, Sprash etc, wanna bet we beat the Tragic on Xmas day?

Just chill the **** out!!! Some of you guys should treat yourselves to new panties that do not get into a twist so easily.

I don't know about that, I was pretty confident that we could beat them without Nelson at home and we couldn't get that done.

I think its great that Joe Biscuit and Sprash are always on the game threads when we lose. They are no where to be found when we win. I think that's funny. These guys thrive when the Celtics play bad.

RTG, I hope you were being sarcastic. It is not funny to me. It is sad/pathetic and detracts from our board. It is also many other adjectives - all listed in the International Scrabble Association's Official Tournament List (the ISA allows every profane word that you could possibly think of).

Don't take their comments too serious. I think they do this just to get a reaction from the other posters. Just laugh at it and move on.
