Davis is about ready........

Post#1 » by Kefa461 » Thu Dec 17, 2009 11:17 am

Ainge confirmed the possibility of forward Glen Davis (broken right hand) joining the team for a Dec. 25-30 road trip. “He’s working on getting the strength back in his hand and staying in shape,’’ Ainge said of Davis. “He will probably go on the trip, unless we think he can get better working at home.’’

I wish we had him for that game in Orlando. :-?

But great news, I figured he would take longer to return anyways. Can't wait to see Big Baby out there.

Great. Now trade him for a solid backup small forward. I prefer Shelden to Davis.

Road trips are fattening. I say leave him home till he is ready to play.

I'm glad you aren't the coach or the GM of this team.

We've done pretty nicely without him, it's almost a luxury getting him back. I'm sure he'll help our rebounding a little bit, or at least carve out some space with that big body of his for Sheed and others to hit the boards. Though that may be wishful thinking :(

They are saying he is probably going to be back during the West Coast trip. Why Probably? By that time, it would be over 2 months that Davis has been out. Kobe just broke a finger and didn't miss any games. I don't get that.

When I was 12, I broke my thumb playing basketball. I wasn't sure it was even broken and continued playing. I thought I had jammed it. About 5 days later the dr said it was broken and I was in a cast for 6 weeks. But I was still playing with the cast, even though I wasn't supposed. I love Glen Davis, but I guess that's why the call him Big Baby.

We could use his offense downlow...as much as sheldon williams has shown signs, his hands are still butter. Hopefully this injury wont stop Glen from his ability to playmake in the paint.

Lets see if he has kept in shape. There is no reason for him not to be in the shape of his life right now, so if he is not I think we have to view that as a lack of dedication and not count him in our long term plans.

Your post....at least to me....seemed to suggest that you hurt your thumb as a 12 year and you played and you were relating it to the injury of Glens....as if you played so why can't Davis......I am saying the 2 are like nothing alike and if he was able to play the doctors would clear him and he would play. You as a 12 year old well .....do I need to explain the difference between the 2 situations? Now with the Kobe issue, I can only guess the doctors said he could play....then again Kobe is needed a lot more then Glen is to his respective team...and that should not have to be explained to you either. You know what you were posting.

kobe can't sit out for 2 month to recover, the lakers would lose home court for all but 1rst round of playoff.
Davis could sit until the ASB.

plus the injuries could be totally different

Kefa461, you misunderstood what I was saying because you couldn't wait to take a shot at me. I was comparing Kobe's injury to Glen's injury. That comparision was made in the first paragraph. I didn't mention my personal experience on breaking my thumb until the second paragraph.

If their is a doctor on this board, I would like to know the difference between the two injuries from a qualified person. One guy break a thumb, misses over 2 months and has pins put in and taken out. The other guy also breaks a finger and doesn't miss any games. It just seems like its taking Davis a very long time to get back.
