Christmas Wish List

Post#1 » by Miller4ever » Sun Dec 20, 2009 12:10 am

Make it Pacers related. What do you want to see out of this team?

I want Granger back healthy and 100%, and TJ Ford off the bench.

I want Lester Connor as our interim-coach, TJ Ford traded, and a completely healthy roster that's inspired by Lester Connor.

I want the Pacers to lose. Let the young guys play. Trade anyone except Hibbert Dunleavy or Tyler to get more 1st round picks. Get enough picks to get John Wall.

You want to leave Granger on the block and tank?

Usually it's one or the other.

And I like it neither.

Seconded. Let's just keep growing as a team where we can. Whatever happens this season happens. There are a number of positives coming through that should all give us decent hope for the future.

My christmas wish is for Rush to find a way to be more involved on the offensive end. He's shown enough to become more than a "wait around the perimeter" type of guy.

Ideally I'd like to see more set plays for him off of screens as I think this kid could have a broad overall offensive game.

^^Yeah, Rush's abilities are best utilized in a more structured offense, because if he goes at it with a role and a goal, he can have more confidence that he won't screw up, leading to confidence that he can succeed.

In no particular order.

Have Granger at 100%
Start Watson
Play AJ Price
Get rid of O'brien
Teach Hibbert to stop fouling so much.

This.

I'll admit it, the losses just don't sting this year. Although I hope the Pacers win, when they lose I just say, "Hmmph. Improves our lottery chances."

If the season ended today, the Pacers would have the sixth-most Ping Pong balls in the lottery. Here's a breakdown of the odds we'd have for each selection in the 2010 draft:

1st - 6%
2nd - 7%
3rd - 8%
4th - impossible (only the first three picks are drawn for)
5th - impossible
6th - 44%
7th - 30%
8th - 4%
9th - 1/10% (that's 1,000 to 1 odds; even the Pacers couldn't get this unlucky)

So we'd probably have the sixth or seventh pick...but a 21% chance at being in the top three!

That would be a nice piece. Next year's draft holds a lot of bigs to look at.
