Re: Anthony Randolph?
Al Jefferson is almost enough for that GS package. Take out Rubio, put in Gomes or something lol.

Re: Anthony Randolph?
Haven't seen a single trade here that I'd do. Honestly, I don't get all this Randolph love. Yeah, he's got potential and has some tools but what has he shown so far? A couple flashes of greatness and heavy doses of inconsistency. He's rapidly outgrowing the SF position and, if I'm not mistaken, we have the PF position covered.
There is absolutely no way I'd moveJefferson, Rubio, or Love for Randolph and there is no way I'd take back Maggette for him. This is crazy talk.

^ because we have little talent on the team, and even less length and athleticism. A guy who is 7 foot, can handle and is a decent jump shooter while actually playing defense could help this team alot.

Re: Anthony Randolph?
I think the Clips would disagree (Kaman and Al have similar numbers this year), and the Clips would be sending out other pieces to make the numbers work. That's why I'm saying picks would have to change hands to balance things...
For example (and this is what I mean about it being too large) - #5331026
Clips Give
Al Thornton
Chris Kaman
Craig Smith
MN Pick returned
Clips Receive
Al Jefferson
Ricky Rubio
Tyrus Thomas
Chicago Gives
Brad Miller
Tyrus Thomas
Joakim Noah
Protected First Rounder
Chicago Receives
Al Thornton
Chris Kaman
Craig Smith
Ryan Gomes
GS Gives
Andris Biedrins
Kelenna Azubuike
Anthony Randolph
Anthony Morrow
Speedy Claxton
GS Receives
Joakim Noah
Ramon Sessions
Brad Miller
Chicago Protected First
Minnesota Gives
Al Jefferson
Ryan Gomes
Ricky Rubio
Minnesota Receives
Andris Biedrins
Kelenna Azubuike
Anthony Randolph
Anthony Morrow
Speedy Claxton
MN Pick Returned (from Clips)
Honestly, that's too much value for the Wolves, IMO... But I think it is moving parts to where they fit better.

Re: Anthony Randolph?
I don't really like that. I like the wings available in the draft, and Biedrins defense is pretty overrated.
I sort of break it down as
Jefferson > Biedrins and Randolph
Rubio > Azubuike and 1st rounder(I don't think this will be a high pick that we give up)
Gomes = Morrow, etc
Honestly, I'd rather just move forward and draft wing help and maybe another big. And if we're trading Jefferson, I want an impact player, not just potential.

Re: Anthony Randolph?
I've avoid talking about Anthony Randolph for two reasons.
1. I think he's perhaps one of the hardest players in the NBA to guage his value. He has little previous data to extrapolate, and his youth can make it vary widely. In addition to the varability of his actual production, the GSW reporting of it is about as fair as a youtube highlight reel. I got no idea what this guy is worth, and even less idea of what the actual GSW organization (not GSW RealGM posters) would want for him.
2. That said, he seems to fit the type of player that MIN should want to get. He's long, athletic, young, and can run. He may be very unlikely to reach it, but he has a very high upside. MIN needs to gamble on more of those players.
3. I am very suspicious that Randolph has severe problems being a team-player. How often do we see 1st round kids being publicly put on the trading block? Granted that Nellie doesn't like young players, but the front office doesn't want to look stupid. They drafted him on potential, and to be announcing you want to trade a kid this early tells me that they don't believe he's going to make good on that potential. I think he's a lot more likely to be a young Eddie Griffin than a young Kevin Garnett.

Re: Anthony Randolph?
Randolph reminds me of Hollins, but better ... do either have long-term futures?
Brewer shooting about 40% (3pt shooting is down) and has improve his all-around game ... Sprewell was an all-star shooting 42%. Does Brewer have a long-term future - let alone all-star status?
I think teams are always looking for consistent players that will work and are receptive to coaching. I think Randolph obviously has the athletic ability, but I'm not sure if he's ever going to be a good fundamental player. When you lack fundamentals, you lack consistency and become less coachable. Therefore, I can see why GS may want to move him now and avoid paying him big-man money.
A trade may shake him up some and do him good... I'd roll the dice just because we already suck.

Re: Anthony Randolph?
GS gets whooped in that giant deal, and I think Chicago makes out like bandits (as do the Clips).
I like randolph, but it'd take too much to get him and unless he could be our defensive C he doesn't really fit. Furthermore, we can get a Defensive C for much less through trades, the draft, or a signing.

Something tells me it's too big...
Honestly, for me, I'd rather take Rubio and Randoph out. I think Morrow and Azubuike could be potentially huge if we didn't yank their minutes around--god knows we could use the shooting...

Re: Anthony Randolph?
First off, Wolves+Vikings yesterday = *@%#^##&%^&#@!!!!!!!!!!!
Randolph is the kind of player I'd like us to take a shot at. He is long and athletic, versatile, and needs playing time to develop his huge upside. I think the only way to make a deal is to involve a third team. I think Miami is that team. I'm trying to work out a trade, these are the basics:
Randolph to the Wolves, Beasley to the Warriors, and Sessions, Gomes to the Heat.
To finish the deal the Wolves take on productive salary this year and next(Maybe beyond), while the Heat shed salary to avoid the lux this year and open up more cap room for next year(while still adding productive win now players), and the Warriors move future salary to open up cap space.
These are the moving parts to choose from-
Wolves: Gomes, Sessions, Hollins, Ellington, Pekovic, expirings, and picks.
Heat: Beasley, Jones, Cook, Anthony, Chalmers, expirings, and picks.
Warriors: Randoph, Maggette, Radmonavic, Azubuike, Curry, expirings, and picks.
Is there an everybody wins trade to be made here?
What do you think? Help me out.

I'm not sure the Wolves belong in such a deal. A Beasley or Randolph deal is going to require either Flynn, Rubio, Love to get it done, which I don't want to do. We can't offer our #1 until it's guaranteed that it's not going to the Clips.

Re: Anthony Randolph?
Here's my best shot at this 3 team deal.
MN: OUT- Sessions, Gomes, Hollins, Wilkins, Jawai, Pekovic, UTH 1st
IN- Randolph, Azubuike, Turiaf, Claxton(exp), Quinn(exp)
GS: OUT- Randolph, Azubuike, Turiaf, Claxton
IN- Beasley, Hollins, Jones(par.guar.), Wilkins(exp), UTH 1st
MIA: OUT- Beasley, Jones, Quinn
IN- Sessions, Gomes(par. guar.), Jawai(exp), Pekovic
If I need to , I will explain my reasoning later.

Anyone think Gs would do this deal?
MIN IN:Randolph, Morrow, Azubuike, Claxton
GS IN:Sessions, Gomes, Pecherov/Pavlovic
Even if they would, we'd never be able to tell from GSW posters on RealGM boards. Last month, I heard one say they wouldn't trade AR if the deal didn't include LeBron or Dwight Howard. Chris Paul was in tears, and I had to spend twenty minutes hugging Dwayne Wade.

Ha, even so, that's pretty unfair. I actually think we get the three best players in that deal.
