Larry Borwn sees the offense runing theorugh Boris for them to be successful, and then he says this:

Brown also wants to see Diaw take open shots.

"He's got to shoot when he's open," Brown said. "You're every bit as selfish passing up a good shot as taking a bad shot."

Y'up. Sounds about right.

When he first got to Charlotte he was KILLING it, and making the trade look questionable. This year he's back to being an average player, making the trade look great!

11 points in 34 minutes while passing up shots under the basket for kick outs to a covered man on the perimeter.

I liked the trade then and I love the trade now. No reason to look back. DUDLEY IS THE MAN.

J-Rich needs to step it up himself, althought I would always take J-Rich over Doris and Dudley is a medicore bench player, right now the best piece from that trade is looking like the Bobcats 2010 second rounder...

Diaw can drive you mad sometimes, he has all the tools to be a star but he's way too passive.

The odds of a second round pick becoming more effective the Jared Dudley = not good.

I'm not someone who thinks Dudley is a god or anything, but he's a solid 7th or 8th guy. Works hard, has decent offense, decent defense, and is a great teammate. Sure, there are some gems in the 2nd round, but there are way more busts.

You just don't understand the game.

Dudley has won us games. J-Rich takes terrible contested shots but otherwise is a good player for us.

This proves you have absolutely no idea what you're talking about. Those are not bad numbers for a bench player and he does many things that don't show up the stat sheet.

+1 And many that do show up. For example, Dudley is number four at three point shooting percentage at 48.3%. The three guys higher are shooting 48.9, 49.3; 50% respectfully. Plus he is averaging 3.8 rebounds a game not just three. Now if they calculated tips, deflections and overall smart plays, Dudley would have great stats in all of those. People will use stats to say whatever they want.

It is getting sad when so-called fans just prove to be resident trolls.

I didn't say he was a superstar, but to say he's a mediocre because he's not putting up superstar numbers off the bench proves you know nothing about the game of basketball and the roles each player plays.

MVF, find me 8 other 7th-8th man on the same salary as Dudley who posts better numbers than him *this* season. 8 is an appropriate number since you say Dudley is a mediocre bench player so there must be at least 8 other guys playing the same role as him that are better. The players must have a maximum of 3 starts and cannot regularly be the first player off the bench. The players cannot also be a vet ring chaser who signs for cheap to a contender. If you can say that Dudley is not at least in the same group as the top 5 guys then I'll say I'm wrong.

Dudley's importance to us is not measured by the stat sheet.

I think our bench has played great, and everybody up here knows Jared Dudley. I’ll tell you, that guy is a coach’s dream. He’s a coach’s dream. We never even, I don’t even know what he did, because we never look at the stat sheet with him. But he always comes up with a big defensive play, with a big steal. He’s really kind of got the 2nd unit, he’s the one that’s kind of created the identity of the 2nd unit…Our guys laugh at him all the time, cause when he gets a dunk in practice everybody is like ooooh. He is not the world’s greatest athlete, let’s put it that way. But he’s probably our smartest player really, I don’t know if I’ve ever had a player that was as intelligent as he is. He just knows angles and he plays every play like it’s the last play of the game.

Diaw....jeez...he's SO inconsistent - but he's getting the minutes he's just reverted back to his passive best. They should just do that Al Harrington to CHA for Diaw deal that makes sense

There was an interesting analysis linked to by truehoop that showed that Boris's numbers were actually pretty okay this season until they traded for Jackson. Now that Jackson has taken over the point forward role, Diaw just has no idea what to do and has seemingly given up.

J-Duds stats do not reflect what he does on the court. Granted you COULD measure someones defense by the number of steals they have, but that would be stupid. They also do not have a stat that checks to see how many times a person hustles for a ball or hits the floor (Hill would win) ... JDud brings an energy off the bench like Lou does. He comes in and can just change a game like crazy. I cant recall which team we played earlier this year, but we won thanks to Duds coming in in the 4th and just being super on his toes and energetic.

I've bitched about Boris plenty but I feel kind of sorry for him. hiss personality is such that, when required, he steps up and takes an authoritative role but when another player usurps the position, he just fades into the mist.
