What was the spread on this game anyway? Ravens by 15 ?

I need to start betting on these games - the Bears record ATS must be just awful.

Just know that Angelo would have bungled the pick anyway. May as well give it to a team that knows what to do with it.

I'm going to save the Bears.

I'm brushing up on my 1940's flirtation lingo, and hopefully Virginia will give me the team.

Wish me luck Jedi's.

Can you believe there's still another quarter to play?

The Lions will eat us alive (Vikes are a given).

This team will not win another game this season.

Any team worth its salt has that scouted out cold by now. Good coordinators make adjustments and bring something new to the table.

Like what? Not defending Ron Turner or anything, but the personel on this team is just so awful (in every way, from QB play, offensive line, recievers, running backs) that screens are actually the most effective thing they could probably do.

Like what ?!? ANYTHING DIFFERENT comes to mind. You're backing the idea of running the same low risk/low reward play over again and again despite the fact it doesn't work and teams know we're going to run it? I don't know what to say to that.....

You act like there's any alternative. The running game isn't working. Cutler played like complete trash. Offensive line can't maintain a pocket. Wide recievers don't get open downfield. So what plays would magically work? Have Cutler drop back and pass downfield? So he could throw even more interceptions?

No - you're right.

Quick wide receiver screens are the only answer.

I keep doing it, I keep watching - even though doing so is like getting hit in the nuts with a lead pipe. :o This is just sad, and horrible. How the franchise could come close to considering keeping Angelo or Lovie is beyond me. At this point, about the best thing they have done is to ensure that Denver has an awesome pick next year. Even Angelo's hail mary of getting Cutler has blown up, badly. How does this guy remain employed?!

+1 Chew

This team needs an overhaul and that sucks for Cutler because I do think he is part of the solution here despite his awful play. But he just doesn't have the weapons nor is this defense any semblance of good. Just a waste of a year.

Per Biggs Twitter

DE Adewale Ogunleye expected to miss the remainder of the season. He has a fractured lower leg. Ogunleye will be an unrestricted free agent

Maybe this is a blessing in disguise (despite him being our best end) because now Gaines should have his chance to show he can be our starter next year and that I doubt we resign Wale :dontknow:

I saw Gaines in there for a decent number of snaps yesterday, unfortunately, and he simply didn't do anything. He was signed more for what he can do next year than what he can bring this year. From what I hear he got his sacks in college by just blowing by defensive ends with his plus speed and he has zero pass rush moves and needs to hit the weight room to boot. He sounds more like an OLB in a 3-4 defense to me.

I would love to clean house with the coaching staff and bring in someone to implement the 3-4 next year. Adams/Mark Anderson could be decent guys to have for that scheme.

I would love to see the Bears switch to a 3-4, we've got a lot of the personnel. Idonije and Gilbert are 3-4 Ends for sure. Alex Brown could play there too. At OLB we've got Gaines and perhaps Mark Anderson. We've got a depth of linebackers in Urlacher, Briggs, Jamar, Pisa maybe, Roach, and Hunter. The only major need is a big, run stuffing, nose tackle. It would also make Tommie Harris really tradeable (he's played decent the last few weeks, maybe someone would give up a 2nd or 3rd for him).

In the ultimate slap in Lovie's face, let's fire Lovie, and hire Ron Rivera to come back as head coach and implement the 3-4.

No one will trade anything of value for Harris, so get that out of your head right now. Besides, Tommie would be a nice fit at end in a 3-4. Sadly though, Lovie is bringing his dinosaur defensive scheme back with him next year.
