Queens @ Packers Pregame

Post#1 » by brewcityboii » Tue Nov 6, 2007 7:08 pm

Keys to the game:
1. Stack the box and do not let AP get to the second level, Make them beat us in the air.
2. STOP AP
3. STOP AP
4. Spread there D and don't allow there big front 4 to effect the game.
5. Get the lead early and make them play from behind.

Prediction:
Pack 31 Queens 14
AP gets 100 yds
Favre throws for 300 + again
Koren gets his first TD of the season

we can put 8 or 9 in the box and leave the secondary alone to deal with the occasional pass play. We just have to focus on shutting Peterson down and if we can hold him to just around 100 yards(which is still a good game) than we should get the W.

i think Ryan Grant will have a decent game but i do not expect much cause Vikings have top 5 run defense in the league, but i believe Brett will have over 300 yards passing and 3 or 4 touchdowns, because the Vikings pass defense is pretty bad.

2 to Jennings, 1 to Driver, and 1 to Jones.

I haven't been this excited for a football game in years. The fact that I'm in Viking country and have been listening to sports radio act like they've won the Super Bowl this week makes me nuts with anticipation.

I'm actually anxious to see AD this week. Coming off the throttling of San Diego, his confidence and the confidence of his coaches will probably never be higher. You can bet that Barnett is getting his unit jacked up this week.

As long as the Packers don't just look at the Vikes 3-5 record and take them lightly this is a game the Packers should win at Lambeau in my opinion.

This game makes me a bit nervous though just from the standpoint its a home game we should win but the Packers will have to show up and play a solid football game of they could get upset/beat.

I think the Chargers where feeling a little to good about themselves and took the Vikes lightly and thought they where going to just roll into Minnesota and get a win and that was why they got beat and why Peterson ran for 296 yards.

The Vikes right now are a team I feel a lot more comfortable agianst at Lambeau opposed to at the Metrodome.

The strategy to beat the Vikes is pretty simple, like Brewcity already said stack the box and dare the Vikes to beat you through the air.

Darlene has a short memory. Just a year after this:

Image

He says this:
Sharper to Favre: Try going deep, I'll be ready

Darren Sharper knows Brett Favre is playing some of the best football of his career, and the Vikings safety has seen the highlights of his former teammate completing touchdown passes of 79, 82 and 60 yards in the Packers' most recent victories at Denver and Kansas City.

So what does Sharper think of Favre's success on those deep passes?

"Some of the throws he's making, I just hope he tries that against us," Sharper said Monday. "Those 50-yard balls over the middle of the field, we'll see how much success he has."

The Vikings (3-5) will play the Packers (7-1) at noon Sunday at Lambeau Field.

Sharper, of course, is very familiar with Favre. The two played together in Green Bay for eight seasons and the Favre-led Packers went to the Super Bowl when Sharper was a rookie in 1997.

"I can't remember him playing any better than he's playing right now," Sharper admitted.

Sharper joined the Vikings in 2005 and often talked about his desire to get an interception against Favre. That happened last December when the teams played in Green Bay.

He nearly had another pick in the Vikings' 23-16 loss to Green Bay on Sept. 30, but it was nullified by a penalty.

Favre attempted 45 passes in that game and broke Dan Marino's NFL record for career touchdown passes. Sharper is hoping Favre again tries to put on an aerial show with some deep shots.

"I just see him throw the ball up over the middle of the field very high and very long, and I like when quarterbacks do that," Sharper said. "He did that last time we played him."

I'm pretty sure Brook Bollinger will start over Tavaris Jackson.

No way should he be able to tear up the Packers pass D.

And yes Viqueen fans are pissing me off with thinking that their AP is going to put up 200+ yards on the Packers and win the game by himself.

IMO the Packers have to be careful doing that. You bring one or both safeties to close to the line of scrimmage and Peterson gets a little seem, he'll blow right past those safeties if they get caught in the traffic of bodies. I'd rather they play sorta in between the line of scrimmage and being deep.

The Charger were bringing safeties close to the line of scrimmage and Peterson would find a hole, bam he'd be gone on long runs while the safeties weren't back deep as a last line of defense.

Gameplan wise, this should be the easiest game of the year to prepare for. Put 8 in the box (9 on obvious running downs) and just stop AP. Harris and Woodson will be able to do their thing on the 'Queens WR's.

Packers 28
Vikings 14

We're going to hold Peterson to under 100. Just a good feeling I have.

Are the refs going to blow it and then confess it to USA today the next week?

Packers should have an *
Favre should have an * no way he has the streak without the vicodin.
