What are his off-court concerns? He's only 22, what makes you think that he's peaked?

He'll be 23 come the draft, and he's enrolled in about 42 different schools since high school. Now I won't even claim to know why, but just that he has, that's a concern until I know why.

J2J thinks it's a red flag that he's transfered schools a bunch. He could be right. As far as peaking, I'm not sure if it's possible for him to a better player, just more assertive at this point. The kid has everything you would look for in a SF.

i'll admit, i made a dumb comment there. I didn't express what i meant accurately. Obviously, every player has room to improve. The main thing keeping him back though, is that he just needs to be more assertive. Honestly, i can't tell if he's not as assertive as he should be because he lacks strength and ball handling, or that it's more of a mentality thing. When he wants to be, he looks pretty unstoppable.

I just thought it was funny that you brought that up but failed to mention John Wall's off court problems.

I found an article that you'll like.
http://collegebasketball.rivals.com/con ... CID=998318
Here's a brief summary to clear things up for you:
Johnson initially comimitted to Louisiana-Monroe, but then the coach retired so he went to the Patterson college in North Carolina. He realized after one semester that he wasn't getting enough exposure to large schools, so he transferred to the Eldon Academy which shut down only a month after his arrival. He finally wound up getting a scholarship from Iowa State where he played for 2 years. He decided to leave Iowa State because his relationship with the coach had deteriorated.

He transferred to Syracuse which is currently ranked #5 in the nation, and here we are talking about him as a lottery pick now. I can see where moving around a lot can be viewed as a negative, but it turns out that he absolutely made the right choice. He's overcome a rough a start to his collegiate career, and you can't really hold the transfers against him when you put things into context. One coach retired, another school shut down a month after he arrived. It sounds like he just had few unfortunate circumstances that were out of his control.

By the way, he'll still be 22 by the time of the draft, and he's attended 4 schools including Syracuse since high school.

According to coaches and teammates Johnson is a great kid off the court. A little shy but apparently well loved no matter where he goes.

He turns 23 in July 11, 2 weeks after the draft.

I'm not sure where you got that I said he was a bad prospect. I have him ranked 6th, in what I consider a VERY deep draft. It's not like I bumped him out of the first round. I posted why I put them where I did. John Wall is clearly, far and away, the best prospect of the draft. Any off the court trouble he's been in doesn't come close to justifying dropping him from the top spot. That's why I didn't mention it. I think your man-crush on Wes Johnson is clouding your comprehension. If I put him at 15th, or said I had no interest in him, then sure, you'd have a point. I just rank Wall, Turner, Favors, Henry, and Aldrich over him.

Nothing needs to be cleared up for me. I'm well aware of the situation for Johnson. And 4? I count 5 in what you posted, and 6 according to Draftexpress.com

http://www.draftexpress.com/profile/Wesley-Johnson-1215

Louisiana-Monroe
Lon Morris
Patterson
Eldon Academy
Iowa State
Syracuse

But since you clearly have a problem with me ranking him 6th, how high do you have him? Even ignoring the 6 schools, I'd still rank Xavier Henry over him because I think Henry brings a very comparable talent level, while being 4 years younger. No chance I put Wes Johnson in the top 3 over Turner, Wall, or Favors. So really it comes down to an argument of Aldrich versus Johnson. I could easily be swayed one way or the other on that because I don't think too highly of Aldrich either. I think he's a top 6 prospect for the Wolves, but he's in the 5 or 6 slot for me. It's really a difference of opinion on Wolves needs; center or SF?

So again, what's your problem with my draft board? ;-)

He got the last pork chop in the school cafeteria right before me. I'd slit his achilles tendon if I had the chance.

Well then would you also slit the achilles tendons of the 300 people in front of Wesley that got pork chops? Fair is fair. Line 'em up.

I heard J2J say he would draft Greg Paulus over Wes Johnson. Fact.

I love me some former Duke point guards that can tack a charge and a tea bagging like no other. We'd end up on the wrong end of a Sportscenter highlight, but at least we'd be on Sportscenter.

Have we done much talking about Solomon Alabi? He's put up some nice numbers in December...

Draft him with Charlotte pick if we don't find a C anywhere else. 8-)
