great move by the Browns. gives them instant credibility. I always thought he was a brilliant coach, and not as bad of a GM as people think. He will demand success.

It's a good move for the Browns. That team is in need of some serious help. Just think two years ago when things were looking good. Had Anderson have a breakthough season with Quinn in the waiting. Now they cant give those two away. They have some upside on the offensive side of the ball. Harrison taking the carries from here look positive. Always liked his style. Cribbs is a game changer. Defensively Holmgren has his work cut out for him. It will take 3-4 years before they come around.

He was not good as both at once. IF he doesn't coach, he could be a good exec.

It may - or may not.
Shaun Rodgers = Pro Bowl NT. Joe Thomas = Pro Bowl OT. Great start to anchor trenches.
IF Mike has a great draft and a good FA signing or two - a good hire for coach and either Quinn or Anderson respond - who knows?

He'll do well there. Great move by Cleveland.

Surprised the Browns could get him... I think it depends how influential MH is in personnel decisions. If he is very influential, I think that is a bad thing... if he finds a good GM and let's him do his job, this is a win for Cleveland...

Maybe he saw this video...

I didn't think Holmgren did all that great of a job as GM and maybe some of that was because he was also coaching so it was just too much to handle. But regardless, I heard Len Pasquerelli on the radio last night and he brought up something I hadn't thought about. Holmgren has a great history with hiring coaches so he'll probably be able to find a young up and comer that will do well. So I guess that is one positive to hiring Holmgren. Sucks to be Mangenius, he's likely to be fired 2 years in a row now.
