If it's clear Charlotte can't make the playoffs before the deadline...

Minnesota trades Sessions+Cardinal+pick returned
Charlotte trades Crash Bandicoot

How about Jefferson for Wallace plus protection off from that pick

Favors or Aldrich at our pick
Henry at Cha' pick

Flynn
Henry
Wallace
Love
Favors or Aldrich.

We would be overpaying unless they totally went in the tank and we got a top 6-7 out of it. Plus, if they're trading Wallace to dump salary, they're not taking Jefferson, even though the value is there.

OJ Mayo is one of the best defenders in the league, hes a two way player and hes a great passer and playmaker.

I think I'd rather do this than try to sign Rudy Gay. I doubt the Bobcats trade Crash though.

I think cpfsf's original trade is fair to both sides, and I think many MIN posters would do it, depending on how they projected Wallace. This deal gives CHA a really nice rebuild package, especially since a new owner would want that (now better) pick to draft someone and put their own image to the team. This downgrades our pick, since we'd have to do it before the deadline to include Cardinal in the trade.

Offering Al Jefferson is adding far more value, and removing the protection would probably prove valueless since his addition would most likely move CHA into the playoffs and devalue the pick. I would want a different asset added.

I wouln't go as far as Al making them a playoff team, they will be losing their best player, plus Al will need some time settle in their system.

Maybe if we truly want to be an uptempo team in the GState mode. Far from ideal though. He's the perfect embodiment of a PF to me.

That's kind of what I was thinking. Considering the year he's having I think it's safe to say the days of getting Wallace for scraps are over.

sell high, otherwise we take their 1st and Crash might get injured again (has a possible concussion right now). Even w/ 100% health, they probably miss the playoffs, so they really need to do some tanking this season. Stephen Jackson trade probably messed that up though, so now they will stick to their guns for better or worse.

They have a lot of committed salary for team that isn't very good and doesn't seem to be going anywhere.

Also, the Bobcats are for sale, and removing longterm salary is one way to make the team more attractive. It becomes cheaper, and the new owner can put his mark on the team earlier -- particularly with the guaranteed return of the CHA pick.

Charlotte just needs a veteran point guard. Andre Miller would do wonders for them.

I don't think the original trade is that far off...I bet if you add the rights to Pekovic to this offer it gets it done. It gives the Bobcats their "offensive-minded" Center to go with Chandler. Also get a quality PG and saves them $6.5M in salary this summer.

From the Wolves perspective, there's still a chance to get $10M below the cap this summer if they trade Gomes to a contender (Boston) for an expiring or two, giving them the option to go after a Rudy Gay if they so desire. Although that would put Gay out of position at SG I suppose, but I think we're still in "asset acquisition" mode, no? 8-)
