Would we want Mike Holgrem

Post#1 » by John6988 » Sat Nov 10, 2007 6:18 am

Ok I live in Seattle and for the past few weeks they have been saying that Mike most likely wont come back at the end of the season and if he returns to football at all one of his places he would like to go to is possibly Greenbay. Obvoiusly this is just radio talk. but they talk about it everyday on 950 KJR.

So heres my question.
GO BUCKS, BREWERS, and the PACK!!!

I dont see any way Mike comes back here as an assistant, and we seem pretty set for the time being at head coach and GM, not to mention the fact that he didn't fare too well as GM in Seattle IIRC.

I could see him coming back in some front office capacity, but only after he is finished with coaching.

Great coach. Mediocre GM. We don't need him right now. The only opening we have is team President and he certainly isn't qualified for that.

We have family friends that are friends with people on the board and I will say that Mikes name has come up.

Really, if they are replacing Harlen they want to have a football guy in there....but really, the GM does the work. The Prez in my opinion is only there to make sure that the GM is running our team correctly.

You never see the Prez making decisions on draft day, or contacting agents about a player, etc.

While he has no experience, he is a football guy.

However, before his death Max Magee, and Paul Hornung both talked to Harlen about the position and Harlen politely said "no".

I just know that Holmgrens name has been brought up before by the board and you haven't heard anything about it for a while...and Mikes deal is done after this year, I believe....

Stranger things have happened.

I don't think the Presidents position has to be a football guy. NFL experience yes but personnel experience no. The GM has to be the guy in charge of all football decisions.

I agree completely....

However the heavy rumor up here is that it was the Board that made TT take the deal off the table for moss.....
