Trueblood fined $15,000 for actions in Arz game...

Tampa Bay Buccaneers offensive right tackle Jeremy Trueblood has been fined $15,000 by the league for an incident in last Sunday's game in which he bumped a game official during a skirmish with Arizona Cardinals defensive end Darnell Dockett.

A second-year veteran, Trueblood is considering whether to appeal the fine, imposed for what the league termed "impermissible contact" with an official.

It is believed to be the first time that Trueblood, who has a 2007 base salary of $360,000, has drawn a league fine.

The play for which Trueblood was fined came with only 1:01 remaining in the Bucs' 17-10 victory, as Tampa Bay was attempting to run out the clock. On a first-and-15 play from the Arizona 31-yard line, Tampa Bay quarterback Jeff Garcia took a knee for a one-yard loss.

After the play was blown dead, Trueblood pursued Dockett, the two engaged each other, and eventually had to be separated by their respective teammates.

During the altercation, Trueblood inadvertently brushed a game official and was ejected from the contest. Dockett was neither thrown out of the game nor sanctioned by the league.

Trueblood should not appeal, IMO the fine fits the crime. Even though he was provoked by Dockett, Jermey lost his cool and accidently made contact with a ref. He should be glad he wasn't suspended.
