its funny how the same writers that two years ago were saying Kobe was selfish, uncoachable, and doesn't make his teammates better is now getting Jordanesque media worship.

I guess thats what winning a title does for you. Judging from what the media is saying right now that nothing expect a total Laker collapse (losing the West #1 seed) or the Cavs rising back to having the best record in the league like last year will take the MVP away from Kobe this year.

I highly doubt the Cavs win the East or the Lakers don't win the West, so it looks like Kobe may be getting MVP #2 and building his legacy to join the top 5 greatest players of all time.

I have my basis you have yours. I'm not here to convert you to my view and you shouldn't expect me to convert to yours.

I assumed the only reasonable thing we were arguing is who we thought would win MVP. It seems all evidence is pointing to Kobe. Last year it was LeBron. Year before was debatable with Kobe and Paul.

There are to many guys who just love certain players that reasonable debate is hardly ever possible so it would be futile to do so IMO.

near unanimous? There was one story with 4 writers. In the past week I've seen multiple other stories from mutiple writers who have LeBron as MVP. I haven't seen any that have Carmelo ahead of LeBron. I have seen one that has him ahead of Kobe, though.

There are a bunch of lakers fans arguing with a bunch of cavs fans, but there are also respected posters like Doctor MJ who have no bias in this who have LeBron ahead of Kobe. He had Dirk, Kobe, Lebron as the MVP the last 3 years.

We established in the beginning that the MVP encompasses multiple factors...one of which happened to be stats. In virtually every other Category, Kobe has the edge on Lebron...so what's the problem? If you want to hand out a stats award like the baseball silver slugger....than give it to Lebron. If you want to hand out the MVP, give it to Kobe.

How can this be anyone other than Kobe right now?

Kobe led the Lakers to 8-3 without Gasol, and 2 of those games were without Bynum. Let me translate, even without Gasol, the Lakers still had a better win percentage than the Cavs.

With the starting unit intact, the Lakers are 15-1. Giving them an overall record of 23-4, best record in the league and 4 games ahead of the Cavs in the loss column.

Let me be preemptive. Sure the Lakers have more talent, however, LeBron has MORE than enough talent to beat the 5-6 bad teams he's already lost to.

Kobes stats arent far off from LeBrons either: Per 36:
28-5-4-2 on 49% v. 27-6-7-1 on 50%

Kobes defense has been better. Even some LeBron fans have admitted it.

What argument can be made for LeBron over Kobe right now?

even if I wrote the wrong name, how does that leave me with hollinger? I'm pretty sure Ford has an MVP vote. And I've seen other articles too - not sure if those writers have votes or not.

Ford doesn't have a MVP vote. He said this is a chat last year.

Marc Stein has a vote, Adande has a vote, Bucher has a vote.

Not sure if Hollinger has a vote, but probably does.

Those are the only three (four) that I know of from ESPN.

Stein is for Kobe.

We can assume Adande is going to vote for Kobe although he hasn't said it yet

And Bucher will probably vote for Kobe. He voted for kobe in 05-06.

Is that the only thing you can argue agaisnt in my post? A couple tenths difference when I rounded? And you do realize that 95% of the voters for MVP dont give a sh** about TS% right?
