I think he is just constantly worried. I think he was worried that he'd leave him in during a (debatably) meaningless game and he'd get hurt. Right now, all Chilly is worried about is getting a healthy Vikings team into the playoffs. He is an idiot and this will, again, haunt Minnesota at some point this season. Count on it.

Hodge thinks the Queens are a 1 and done team because of this power feud between Brent and Childress. Dilfer is all over Favre's balls and thinks he is bigger than the coach/organization and should be and thinks it's alright. Watching this video makes me feel so glad that we went with Rodgers and will never have to deal with situations like this ever again.

I can see all of this coming back in Favre's face. Playing like crap. Vikings get bounced in the first round, and Minesota is stuck with that nice contract extention for a average coach. It's all starting to unfold. Favre is such a drama queen... Im so glad were done with all that.

My old college roommate is a huge Queens fan (despite being from Wisconsin). I told him early in the year after the Queens swept the Pack that the silver lining for Packers fans was that Childress would likely get extended. He didn't think that was going to happen and even thought could get fired despite the Queens having a big year. Needless to say he was pretty pissed when I sent him the link announcing the Childress extension. The Vikings window to compete is this year and possibly next year, then they'll be back to TJack/Rosefels with a **** coach. The Packers on the other hand should be contenders for at least the next 5 years or so.

Not to mention Peterson will have more wear on him by then and will be facing 8 in the box all game again. Oh, and the Williams wall is already not as dominant as it once was. Another year or two and they might not be nearly the factor they once were.

I could see the Vikings making a bold move and dealing up for Bradford.

That's fine. I don't think Bradford's all that good. Or, at least by the time Bradford is legitimate, the Queens will likely have a bunch of other issues they have to deal with.

Texting my Favre-apologist friends, who all told me I was nuts for saying he has a huge ego and thinks he's bigger than the team, about this situation felt pretty great.

Six 'events' between Childress and Favre

1. Date: Oct. 5
Summary: Leading Green Bay by 10 points late in the fourth quarter, Favre audibled from a run to a pass. A deep throw to receiver Bernard Berrian fell incomplete, stopping the clock and incensing Childress. Offensive coordinator Darrell Bevell talked Childress out of pulling Favre from the game.
Full story: ESPN.com

2. Date: Between Oct. 6 and Oct. 10.
Summary: Favre confronted Childress about the incident in his office.
Full story: ESPN.com

3. Date: Nov. 1
Summary: Favre changed a third-down run play into a pass at Green Bay, throwing a 16-yard touchdown to Berrian. Childress again has to be talked out of pulling Favre from the game.
Full story: ESPN’s Adam Schefter

4. Date: Nov. 15
Summary: Childress was unhappy with Favre’s play in a 27-10 defeat of Detroit and wanted to replace him with backup Tarvaris Jackson.
Full story: Star Tribune

5. Date: Dec. 20
Summary: Childress approached Favre about removing him from a 7-6 game in the third quarter. Favre refused and Childress left him in the game.
Full story: ESPN.com

6. Date: Dec. 20
Summary: Childress directs a private, profanity-laced response toward Favre after the game in the Vikings’ locker room.
Full story: St. Paul Pioneer Press

It’s a good thing that Minnesota’s next game will be a lightly viewed, largely invisible matchup at Chicago.

Oh, wait. It’s on ESPN’s "Monday Night Football." Here we goooooooooooooooooooooo!

I'm really hoping this all turns into a Minnesota melt down. Please!

Report: Chilly ripped offense at halftime, hurled post-game expletives at Favre
Posted by Mike Florio on December 22, 2009 8:58 AM ET
As it turns out, Chilly isn't such a chump after all.

Sean Jensen of the St. Paul Pioneer Press reports that, both before and after the "heated discussion" that Vikings coach Brad Childress claims wasn't a "heated discussion," Childress targeted some heated words at members of his team.

Per Jensen, the offense got it at halftime, and Favre himself was the target after the game, presumably after Favre aired the dirty laundry to the media.

At the half, Childress reportedly cursed at the team and said it's "laughable" that the Vikings consider themselves a Super Bowl team.

Though a kinder, gentler Chilly emerged on Monday, Jensen writes that "all is not well between Brad and Brett, and the primary difference centers on the quarterback's penchant to check out of runs and into passes."

And so, as several of you have suggested in the comments, it sounds like there's finally a schism in Minnesota. Favre might not have known what the term meant in August, but we've got a feeling that he knows it now.

This just keeps getting better... Chilly pulled the tough guy act and Favre didn't buy it and now neither will anyone else. Pretty awesome...

I did, I was just getting a little nervous because it took a little longer than I thought it would.

Yeah I thought it would have happened by 8 games in at the very latest, you are right about getting a little nervous, I thought that just maybe the Viqueens could hold it together long enough to pull this thing off, thankfully it doesn't look like we have to worry about that anymore.

Favre changing running plays into passing plays. Doesn't surprise me at all. Commence meltdown!

Really can't wait to watch this MNF game. Favre hasn't won on the road in the cold (temp below 39 degrees), since Jan 2002 when Brent gave Strahan the sack record.
